Ajitsuke Authentic Japanese Seasoned Roasted Nori Seaweed - 100 Snack Packets - Fat Free, Light Spicy Flavor - 3.4 Oz

I've been a seaweed snacker for years, and bought this seaweed brand for 9 times already! Will keep continuing buying this brand, as it's consistently crispy without fail. Once I open the 1st packet and keep the remaining in the fridge, it still stays crispy after weeks even to the last packet. Only thing is that this is not made in Japan, but I've tried other made in Japan seaweed brands, and they were just soggy from the time I opened it. I do find it slightly pricey, but I'll still get it as I can't seem to find any other brand that's as crispy as this.

I was a little surprised to find a 1/4" round bone-like piece within the seawead. All I can think was, since I understand authentic seaweed is sometimes walked on be people's bare feet, was that a worker had a broken bone in his foot. The best seaweed is harvested from piers and sun dried. Maybe a fish committed hari-kari on the pier and that accounts for the bone. I'm not sure. This product tasted like kiln-dried (the seaweed - forget the bone). Not bad, however, I agree with the other reviewer, not very spicy (fine with me). The first taste on the tip of your tounge will be sugar, which is the 3rd listed ingredient by volume, after soy sauce (which has sugar) and bone - I mean - seaweed. It also contains fish and shrimp according to the label, so if you're allergic or thought you were eating vegitarian and I did, be ware. Texture and consistance were right and "I betcha can't eat just one." Shop around for the pure boneless, fishless, shellfishless stuff and let me know where you find it!

This roasted nori has a lite, spicy flavor that our kids love. We take lots of packets with us when we go out just about anywhere, because they're healthy and we don't mind letting the kids have as many as they want when they ask for a snack - especially compared to nasty, processed, non-nutritive kids' snacks like chips, cheese puffs, cheese crackers, etc. If you've never had nori, this is the same stuff that sushi rolls are wrapped in - it's just served crispy here because it hasn't absorbed any moisture from the rice and sushi roll that it is otherwise wrapped around.There are lots of health benefits to eating nori, and the light spicy flavor in the Ajitsuke brand is just right - give it a shot, you'll like it!

Decent tasting seaweed. I have several Korean friends who have prepared Korean meals for me, often including seaweed. I tried this hoping it would be the same thing. It tastes decent, but not as good as what I am used to, and not as crunchy as some of the other stuff I have tried. My biggest frustration is the packaging. If you are trying to eat a few packets in the car, the numerous small packets leave a lot of extremely light/thin plastic that won't just stay in a cup holder or other trash holder.Pros: Good price, large quantity, fairly good tasteCons: Packet size (trash left after opening)

This seaweed and the msg free seaweed are great products. This one has a nice spicy bite. I love seaweed plain and with these flavored products I have gone to heaven. I have been eating seaweed since I was 5 years old. I was a picky eater, but now I am not. Nori has great nutrients and is low cal and has high protein. It is a perfect food. This is just another great way to taste it and consume it. I can eat more of the nori if I have the msg variety. Nori is a good thing to eat a great deal of. This taste is good.

As mentioned in various seaweed reviews, it sort of leaves a weird melting of seaweed in your mouth for awhile. I suppose this is just the nature of seaweed, but I feel as if it is more pronounced here than with other brands I have tried.Pros: Flavor is sharp and enjoyable.Cons: Melts strangely.

I've had many different brands of seasoned nori and this is as good as the best of them. I have a collection of desiccant packets that I keep in the bag because it's very humid where I live and this will lose its crispiness very quickly without them.As much as I love this stuff, my cat loves it more. I keep trying to tell him he's an obligate carnivore but he doesn't care. The poor cat starts drooling (literally drooling) when I say "NORI!" I've used this to get him to sit on command. He'll do anything for this stuff- it's better than any kitty treats! Alas, it's also far more expensive. So, my kitty has a (sea)weed problem and I'm his enabler.

There are two variations of this product. The one shown in the photo with the blue trim packets is flavored with a light sauce marinade or coating and seasoning and is toasted. The one is received has white trim packets with just a dry spice seasoning and is toasted, which is ok but in taste but definitely not as good in my opinion. Wish there was some sort of disclaimer stating that you may not get the actual product shown.
