It just doesn't grip hooks.
Bought this for griping size 4-8 size carp hooks. And it just does not grip them very well at all. A couple of strokes with a diamond file and the hook is loose in the jaws. I may try to file a groove in one of the jaws to see if that helps. Other than that its back to using my fingers. which were perfect for the job in the first place. Plus you don't have to rummage around in your tackle box to find them.

An excellent product that holds hooks very well and has good adjustment.
Very well made sturdy and chrome coloured with a very good adjustment range. I tried it with a wide gape pattern size 6. It fitted very well. I am delighted with the product.
