Soltrack Mens Stick on Soles with Glue

My work shoes were very slippery. The original leather soles were very smooth and I literally skated about my place of work.I was intending to go to Timpsons and pay to have them re-soled, but then I spotted these on Amazon. I studied the customer reviews and decided I'd give them a try for the few pounds they would cost.When they arrived I used the roughing up tool to scrub the shoes. I didn't think it would be very good, but it was superb. As others have said scrub right to the edges and be thorough.Then I spread a little glue on the untrimmed rubber soles. By the time I'd coated both soles and both shoes the glue was touch dry. The tube that comes with the soles is quite large so I had lots left over for a second coat. I dumped lots on all 4 surfaces and then very quickly applied the soles to the shoes (didn't wait for the second coat to dry). Once the soles were on they were ON! I used gaffer tape to apply pressure and also to pull the edges tightly onto the shoes and then left them over night to dry.The following morning I carefully removed the tape (be very careful if you use any kind of tape on shoes as it can pull the finish off shoe uppers). The soles were thoroughly bonded to the shoes and using a fresh Stanley knife I trimmed the excess rubber off.After 2 weeks of not slipping about my work place I can confirm that these soles are brilliant (even in the wet). Very grippy, quite literally welded to my shoes and I can now stride about work with much more confidence ;).Highly recommended.

Despite my early scepticism I am very impressed with these soles. I got fed up spending £40 to have a quality pair of shoes resoled every couple of years. I also found that the leather sole would soak up water in the winter & would slip in the summer. After yet another small hole appearing in the leather sole I decided to give these a go. I was not disappointed! I have since worn the shoes a number of times in all weather & the soles are firmly glued into place. The key to applying these successfully is to thoroughly rough up the new sole & the sole of the shoe. I did not cut the sole to the exact size of the shoe (as suggested in the instructions) but instead cut it to leave a 1cm overlap. I then applied the glue evenly to the shoe & new sole, waiting approx 10mins before firmly applying the sole carefully to the shoe. Once pressed firmly into place I used lots of elastic bands to hold the sole firmly in place to ensure even contact. I put the shoes away for 24hrs before removing the bands. After a further 24hrs I neatly trimmed the overlap with a Stanley knife. The soles are very easy to trim & the overlap ensures that the sole is glued right to the edge of the shoe. If I say so myself, the repair is as good as anything from a shop.

I purchased these soles to reduce the noise that the soles on my current pair of boots made and more importantly to stop my boots from sliding around due to the very little amount of rubber my soles had been fitted with.The soles themselves are made out of thick,good quality rubber that have little grooves carved on the bottom that further helps the boots from sliding around and immediately, muffled the very noisy 'tap tap tap' sound that my previous soles had failed to silence!Applying these soles is very easy and did not take very long at all.The glue supplied with these soles is extremely strong and you have to fit them correctly on your first attempt, so make sure you take care when fitting as there is no turning back once they are applied!The instructions that were sent with this product were clear and greatly helped in the fitting process.All in all I would definitely recommend these rubber soles to anyone who wants a quick and permanent fix and doesn't want to fork out for a costly visit to the cobblers!Price Paid When Purchased: £4.93 incl. Initially excellent. The glue stuck really well and the soles did a good repair. Unfortunately 9 month on and both have work though.

I purchased these as the soles of my shoes were starting to wear thin. I simply drew a template and cut the rubber out with a craft knife. With the 'roughing' applicator I scored both shoe sole and rubber, used plenty of glue (right up to the edges) and then placed onto the shoe. I held the sole in place for a few minutes before clamping and leaving for the evening (8 hours recommended) in a dry place. The next day they were glued tight. Any small gaps I found in the morning, I simply reapplied glue and left to set. I have had no issues what so ever with them coming lose as long as you glue them correctly and leave them to cure. 10/10 for a fast fix. Great price.

Bought this for my loakes loafers with leather soles. I had rubber soles added to my more expensive cheaney brogues by my local timpsons and it cost £23 so I thought I'd try diy on these.Some reviewers have commented there is no lid on the glue, I found there was only just enough so wouldn't have needed lid anyway.I had a go with the tool supplied for roughing up the soles and found it not very effective so used sandpaper, I'd offered up the sole and marked a biro line on the sole to sand up toI found the soles sucked up the first coat of glue and it dries within a few minutes.By the time I had finished coating the second sole the first had dried, there was no waiting around involved.I didn't trim the soles at all until they were stuck on the shoe, granted this uses very slightly more glue but allowes you to get a neater finishThe glue seemed to set much much quicker than advised in the instructions . The coat on the rubber sole was pretty much set within 2 minutes so I made the decision to apply the glue to the leather soles and stick it right on. It bonded instantly, I think if i had trimmed the sole to fit and got the placement wrong I'd have been stuffed .I pressed it on as firmly as I could over the whole area of the sole and edges, I also briefly put them on and rocked up and down a bit with my (not inconsiderable) weight on them.After 20 mins they seemed rock solid so I went ahead and trimmed them off with a craft knife. I slightly angled the knife to get a bevel on the sole on one pair. I would actually advise against this, as I already have pair professionally done, I think they look neater trimmed flush with the sole.All in all I'm really pleased and would buy again tomorrow. I'd probably have a go on more expensive shoes as well now I've got some experience of the fitting theseOnly things I'd do differently-I think I lost a bit of glue down the stitching channels near the edges of the soles. Maybe I brush would be been better than the spreading toolI'd trim the rubber soles flush with the leatherIf there was more glue I'd probably have used a bit more

These have worked better than expected. I followed the instruction given on the product (confusingly the supplier also provided instructions which differed a little). I’ve done a lot of miles since the repair and expected at least some of the sole at the edges to start to peel, but they are still completely sound. As good as ones I’ve had done by cobblers.
