Would help but doubt would stop totally. I use a riggers glove on left hand if sawing close.

Are these breathable or will my hands sweat?

I haven't noticed my hands sweating when I use them. Water does penetrate them so I would think they are breathable.

Are these suitable for chopping kindling

Only if you want to be sure of finding any severed fingers. There's not enough padding to resist damage from a blow and they are only likely to limit the resulting mess. They're more appropriate for a knife slip whilst gently slicing.

Because I keep hitting my head on sharp objects at work I need a beanie hat made from this material. Any suggestions??
