Q: what does assembly involve- the product description indicates a few minutes to assemble, but under expert assembly it says 3 hours, how easy is it?

It took me about 20 minutes, by myself, and I'm not an especially handy person. But I did have to put a box under one end of each shelf to hold it up while I screwed in the other end of the shelf, and only screw them all about 3/4 tight until they were ALL in, then tightened them all. If I can do it, probably almost anyone can!

Q: Is this sturdy enough to be placed on carpet without tipping when books and office supplies are on it?

I have vases, books, decorations and a sculpture on mine. It’s pretty sturdy. This brand and specific type I fell in love with because the quality you get for the price is great. I decided to decorate my dining room and kitchen with their products! Hope this helps

Q: How much wait can you put on this table?

I don't have a specific weight, but I'll tell you what we have sitting on our table. Two dual tray printers on top and multiple boxes of 5 ream legal and letter size paper on the lower shelve. All that stuff weights over a hundred pounds I'm sure. If you look at the product specifications I think it lists a weight. These tables have metal frames and metal legs held together with metal nuts and bolts...very strong.
