Usborne Phonics Flashcards

We brought these as we have a 4 year old learning to read and a 2 year old learning to talk.There are a few cards in here which are not really clear...Eggs in a basket, word Egg - my son advised basketOil - my son said puddlePath - my son said parkJam - my son said jarThey are not the clearest of phonic cards, however they are well made, and do the job to some extent.

I bought these at the start of the UK lockdown panicking that my reception age child would forget everything she has learnt. These cards are brilliant, very well made and include all the “tricky” words she has been learning at school and also the digraphs they had started learning with their phonics. One side of card has the picture and word and the other side is just the word. After a few days our little one is reading the words without the pictures and spelling some of them out if we have ask a certain word. Would say these are a big helpful any reception age/learning to read children.

I was trying to find phonics books but with no luck, I decided on buying these. They're perfect for my 4 year old daughter. Simple words to blend together. They're a decent size and good value for money! If your considering these for your child, buy them. They really help!

My daughter is 2 and a half and we got her a starter pack of flashcards with the alphabet at 18months and she learned them, she progressed on excitedly and was beginning to get the first reading conepts, i decided to teach her phonics so come school age she is working at the same foundation the school teach and got these cards to begin blending sounds and phonics. They are brilliant, sweet cards with nice pictures and three ways of reading the word she is flourishing with them, she is beginning to read properly after only a short time working on these cards i whole heartedly say these are great to begin the phonics your child will learn at school to get a leg up.

My son loves these cards and is always very excited to use them, hence the four star rating. From a learning perspective, they are good to practice once all sounds have been learnt, but would be insufficient to practice groups of sounds (as they are progressively learnt at school)

These are quality cards that match the usborne phonic reader series. The whole series is amazing. The cards have the phonics and picture on the front and just the word on the back. Take out the easy cards that go with the first books (of the 12 book series) like fox, box, cat, map then work through to the sh, ch, etc the cards can also be used to play "snap"

Nice size that has most of what he knows on the cards, Like Apple, Books, Cat, Dog, Ladder, Box, Snail (he picks them with granddad for the chickens) Shed (he points to grandads shed when he says the word). He is getting better at saying words he knows from the pictures, but because of his glue ear making his hearing a bit low, he needs help with his speech and these are great in helping him.

Really nice set of flashcards - I'd say they're the best I've seen and I've been looking at a few now for my 3 year old.The pictures are really nice and get her attention and she is starting to show an interest in the words and letters. Not that I expect her to be reading yet but I just wanted to start developing her understanding.I bought these along with Fat Cat on a Mat and other tales and the two go together really nicely
