Mean Girls [2004] [DVD]

This film, unlike most of the empty headed American girly films, has a serious side of what its like to live in girl world in an American college, but it is still a very funny film. It has an excellent cast and a good script, the first and by far the best in the short series of mean girl films. Well worth a watch, even if you dont like girly films.Dogberry.

Absolute classic.

As we all know, the original movie is a timeless classic but this movie has its ups. The songs aren't as perfect as they are on Broadway and they did cut some good ones (More is Better, Where do you Belong?, etc) but I feel this movie is a great way to get the younger generation into the story and bring a nostalgia wave to the older ones. Still prefer the original but this is comfortable watch!

I tried to get into it and I hoped it would recreate the vibe of the original but instead it just randomly breaks out into song.

It was okay but I remember watching the original as a kid when it came out and loved it. It could be the nostalgia talking but this just doesn't compare to the original. There was nothing new except for the fact that it was a musical which I didn't enjoy. I think it could be a good film if you like musicals. If you've already watched the original and want to give it a shot then go for it but be warned that other than the fact that it's a musical, there is nothing new. I felt like word from word they tried to re-create the original and it didn't live up to the first one.

Funny, lots of stereotypes but all being ignored. Loved how the baddies were just pretty girls with their own set of problems. Really liked the happy ending which is odd for me as I like bleak movies normally! :)

Definitely personal preference but the songs are catchy and I enjoyed
