Seemed to work BUT….
I purchased this device in October 2021 as dr said my daughter’s constant sneezing was probably a dust mite allergy. It’s very unobtrusive, easy to use, the sneezing stopped almost immediately so was really happy. For almost all of 2022 we suffered from really extreme behaviour issues, seemingly very anxiety driven. Daughter was very withdrawn and seemed very depressed. Working with all sorts of agencies to resolve with no impact. For Xmas we got her something that needed to be plugged in and without thinking anything about it, I removed this plug with the intention of placing it in another and completely forgot to do it. In the two weeks or so since I did that, my daughter is almost back to her old self (still a bit stroppy at times but who isn’t!!??). The only thing that has changed in the house is the removal of this plug. So I can only assume she was sensitive to whatever it emits. This is in no way meant as a negative review, the plug worked to stop the sneezing rather than medication, just writing the review to make people aware in case they experience the same difficulties we did.

WOW!
My allergic GSD started her usual Springtime itching in February this year, and instead go easing off as usual, it got worse and worse culminating in a hotspot that overnight turned into one medium and one huge hotspot. She has never had hot spots before. After the first vet's visit she was prescribed NSAIDs because the vet thought she had sore hips due to the close proximity to the hot spots. I had to buy her an Elizabethan collar to try and stop her worrying the hot spots. I really didn't want to give my dog the pills as I try to do things with natural remedies, but I obviously took the vet's advice. After three days of NSAIDS with no improvement I stopped using them. I did manage to help clear up the hot spots by using raw organic cider vinegar (Bobby's) which worked really well, but didn't stop her biting and licking her legs and her coat. Next stop was back to the vet, this time for very very strong anti histamines, which again did absolutely nothing. I know my dog is allergic to dust mites because she was very itchy as a pup and was tested for allergens. I vaguely remembered the dust mite controller as I have had one before a few years ago, and when we moved it disappeared, and the itching had stopped. After moving house both my GSDs started itching again in the Spring. Anyway I bought the dust mite controller, and I can honestly say it has helped so very much even after a few days of constant use, and the effects have just got better and better as time goes on. My dogs live in the living room as my house is tiny, so the controller is next to their beds. So I have spent out £165 on the vet which the insurance won't pay for, for nothing. There is no more sitting down and scratching for England several times a day. No more hot spots, and no more madly licking and biting front legs and feet. For itching the very best immediate help is the Bobby's raw organic cider vinegar, just pour some on cotton wool and rub well in to the itchy bits. For long term protection use the Dust Mite Controller. I am now happy to have solved the problem, but am still annoyed at the waste of money at the vets.

Doesn't seem to work at all and the light keeps changing
I had a different brand to control dust mites for a few years and it was great once you got through the initial life cycle of the mites. This item doesn't seem to do anything. The light gets dimmer then brighter occasionally which wakes me up. I'm covered with itchy red lumps from the reaction to the mite dust, despite having special covers on my bedding. I waited 3 months to be sure it wouldn't stop their life cycle, so now it's too late to return it. Very disappointing.

How do I Know whether It Is working?
Firstly, the device seems to be well constructed, and it is smaller and less obtrusive than equivalent products of the same ilk. I suppose the big problem is that I have no idea whether it is doing the job, or doing anything at all. So it is something of a leap of faith. It has a dim (ish) blue light that you can switch off. However, if you plug it in it "works" immediately, even if the light is off. But there is no way of telling if it is sending out the sound signals (because it is outside human hearing range) and you cannot see the dust mites making a run for it! I wonder if there is a way to test it. Over time I would expect the dust mites to disappear forever and I shall await that moment when I can tell there has been a difference. (Of course this comment would be largely the same for similar gadgets - as I said above this is compact and well constructed.)

I sleep so much better
I've had asthma for near on 30 years and this has been the best thing since sliced bread for me. I should make you aware I have never written a review before, as I never really saw the point - there were so many other people who have said it before me, and better than me, on most products I buy that it was just a repeat, but with this product I am aware that there are a number of people who say it doesn't work. And granted it might not work for them, but I can say, for me, it has worked, and very distinctly. The first night I had it on, I could tell it was on - it actually made me feel a bit nauseous! I was surprised, but put it down to being sensitive to the low frequency waves it gives off to disrupt the dust mites life cycle. I got used to the waves, and it seemed to work. I could tell I thought - I wasn't taking as much antihistamine as I was previously. One night two weeks ago, I got cold at night, and the only thing to hand was my furry coat for winter, so I put it on top of me. I woke up the next morning with my face like a tap having reacted - the coat was full of dust mites, and clearly the appliance had been working for my bed next to it, but not for the coat that was further away in the wardrobe. Having removed the coat, that night and a couple of nights after it made me react more than I had become accustomed to, and had to take antihistamines to counteract - so clearly it was doing it's job, but it has been a gradual elimination since I'd bought the appliance, and the sudden introduction of mites again shocked me how well it had worked. For £20 it has made all the difference.

Fantastic product
As I have asthma I was looking for a reliable product which could be utilised to reduce the levels of dust mite in my room as I suddenly had an episode which was quite bad and became difficult for me to determine the underlying cause which was behind the sudden onset. I conducted the usual tasks of removing any carpets, mats etc. but after conducting further research I was told that your bed and curtains could still contain dust mites and they would require regular spraying. I wanted a product that I could switch on and leave it to do its work, I read about this product on-line which claimed the frequency disturbs the breeding pattern of dust mites effectively reducing their numbers if any to the point where they would eventually die out. Since installing this product I can say my Asthma has improved considerably, though I cant state categorically whether this product was the sole reason for the magnificent result as other factors such as exercise and removing carpets etc. have also helped but the product I feel has provided some additional support in maintaining low levels of dust mites thus having some affect on my overall asthma levels. I would definitely recommend giving the product a go as it could also be helpful alongside other remedies.

Far From a Cure, But it Helps
I've been an allergy sufferer for probably all my life; I just didn't know any better until the symptoms started getting worse over the last few years. The main allergy being dust mites. I'll start by saying that the allergy really sucks; it elicits no sympathy from most people, yet it can be severe enough that it keeps you from doing all kinds of things, as a difficulty breathing properly will tend to do! So far I've tried just about everything; I clean fabrics regularly (bedding every week) and at 60ºC, I have wooden flooring in most rooms, and I've tried using anti-dust mite sprays on less often washed fabrics such as curtains. Unfortunately none of this has helped a huge amount, so I still need a prescription nasal spray in order to breathe normally through my nose; while that works great, I'd rather not have to medicate at all. When I saw this device I had my doubts about its effectiveness, but decided to order one anyway as I just had to know if it might help and… well surprisingly it does! It's far from a cure of course, but after about three weeks of regular use in my bedroom, I've found my allergy suffering is much improved, to the point that I no longer need to use my nasal spray every day, and can spend a lot less of my time in the mornings and evenings coughing, which helps me to get things done, like regular exercise which until now has been very difficult. Although the sound that does the work is inaudible, this device does have an audible buzzing sound as well; people with less sensitive hearing may not notice it, but it prevents me from leaving it on all night. However, it still seems to do the trick so long as it's left running during the day. The unit also has an overly large and plasticky casing, especially given that the only active component is a tiny "buzzer" style sound emitter, however it's a nice neutral white and comes with a good size (1.5m or so) cable which helps in positioning it unobtrusively. In my case I'm hanging it in one of the top corners of my room so the sound can reach the maximum area, and I plan to make a proper mount for it; although it has no proper mounting holes in the back, it does have slots that should work. So, if you're suffering from dust mite allergies then I'd recommend giving this, or a similar, device a try. Your mileage may vary a bit, as I do spend a lot of time in my bedroom since it's also my office where I work from home, so to get the full effect you may need more than one device. However, to begin with a single unit in a bedroom ought to start cutting down on your exposure to dust-mites, especially if sleeping how you spend most of your time at home, and if you do notice a difference then you can get more later. Again though, this is far from a cure, but combined with other good practices it definitely helps to take the edge off what can otherwise be a surprisingly debilitating allergy.
