Cut quality is adequate in one full depth pass, quite clean if you take a finishing pass at .015 step over. We have a 5x10ft machine with 9kw on the spindle. 18mm Baltic is better at 120ipm roughing, 80ipm finishing. I usually get about 6 full sheets of ply before I change the bit. I have gone longer, but the cost/benefit just isn't there to push it. If your bits are breaking, try running faster. You should get hundreds of feet of cutting life. We use these for shop jigs mostly where finger jointing is used for assembly.
