Masterplug Surge Protected 2 m 13 A 6-Gang Surge Protected Extension Lead with Individually Switched Sockets - White

It does what you expect and is a known brand. I have a bunch of chargers, etc. that need to be used daily and sadly 4 sockets are not enough these days. Pulling things in and out of an unswitched power bar is a pain, and as I have a laptop in the mix I went for surge protected just in case. This is the 2nd I have bought as use one in another room. One observation is different manufacturers have the wire coming out of the board on different ends, so which way the wire goes might be a consideration for you. I have no complaints about this product at all.

It’s a multiplug, but it’s a good one (this was my 2nd purchase of the same item). The lead is chunky and feels solid, and the socket unit feels sturdy as well. Having all the available sockets in a row is a real benefit with so many plugs being integral with transformers these days (I have another 8 socket one with 2 rows of 4, and if you plug in a transformer, often the plug opposite becomes unusable). In our study this unit has helped keep our mass of electrical cables in order – we have wall mounted it behind the desk, with the leads disappearing below the desk. At the end of the day, it’s an easy and satisfying job to turn off each plug in turn with the illuminated switches, which are spaced wide enough that we have no problem accessing them between the transformers and plugs. The unit is surge protected, so offers further protection to our devices. The only thing I would mention is that the red illuminated light at the end becomes quite bright in a darkened bedroom, so a patch of black insulation tape might be needed to cover the light if you intend to sleep near the unit.

I've been looking for individually switched sockets on a multi-extension for a while now. Difficult to find one with consistently good reviews but I really did need the switches as some devices like our TV go into standby rather than completely off so having to remember to yank the plug out the extension socket every night is a pain. It's also rather worrying when plugs spark going in/out of sockets - switches are much better. This 6-way extension has a nice simple design and clear lighting indicators. Each switch has its own activation light (only illuminates when on) which I quite like. The longer 2 meter cable is also very helpful as the standard 1 meter offerings from a lot of brands just won't reach where you need it. Only had it a few days but I am very happy with this purchase. I would now happily consider looking at other Masterplug products when I need anything like this again.

I can recommend this to you as a good thing, it does its job well and despite the other reviews which complain about the aesthetics of the item i find no fault in it. It does it's job. Why is it not five stars? Because it is a plug bar and it arrived in good time and in good order. It doesn't do anything other than what it is supposed to do so it offers nothing that makes it exceptional which a five star rating would deserve but it is still a good thing.

This is a great extension lead with 6 outlets, each switchable and with surge protection. Really hand are the socket switch lights when the outlet is on. most my extension leads are non switchable, but having switches is very handy, as you can control which sockets are continuously live and which ones you want off without having to unplug and then plug back in. Solid construction and also manufactured by a known brand and with certified safety markings

I use this to plug in my PC and monitor etc etc. The surge protection gives the extra peace of mind which my old extension socket didn't. I also needed an extra couple of sockets for other things like my Behringer mixer and phone charger. But I also needed to be able to switch them on or off without unplugging them. This Masterplug does the job perfectly. Very good build quality. The individual switches have a good feel to them as well as individual LEDs which aren't too bright or dim. Should've bought one ages ago. Very pleased!! Edit: Bought another one ;)

I have a double electric socket next to my bed but this was not sufficient. I have numerous appliances which I use regularly - electric blanket, radio, TV, floor lamp, table lamp & portable heater - and I was constantly plugging and unplugging things. There was also a complete tangle of cables. This is a sturdy, good quality extension lead. I have plugged in all of my various appliances and now only need to switch on those which I am using at any particular time. I also had the idea of using my Dymo machine to create labels for each electric plug. This had made life much easier. I can now see at a glance what each plug is for. I thought this extension lead was so handy I have bought another to use under my desk so that I can plug in my laptop, printer, desk lamp, phone charger etc, etc. Again I have labelled each plug.

Pros: - Individual switches makes turning off items much more easier than pulling the plug (so to speak) - The stitches have a nice smooth movement. Not stiff like some other brands. You can tell they are good quality switches - surge protected to save your electrical items Cons: - None. Especially as I got these whilst they were on an offer so they offered very good value for money. I hope you find this review helpful.
