Scooby-Doo: Wrestlemania Mystery [DVD] [2014]

Much like everybody else, when I first heard about this crossover I couldn't believe it either. Scooby Doo - arguably the most well-known and popular Hanna-Barera character ever created - and WWE, the greatest wrestling promotion of all time, together in a 90-min animated feature film. I didn't think it could be done until I saw the trailer for it on WWE.com. Since then I waited impatiently for the DVD's release. And when it finally came out, I bought a copy of it online and watched it the very same day it arrived. To say I enjoyed it would be an understatement.The story is about Shaggy and Scooby winning tickets to WrestleMania through a WWE video game, and traveling to the fictional town of WWE City with the rest of the gang. However, they soon become caught up in a mystery involving a legendary ghost bear, which threatens to steal WWE's most prized possession - the WWE Championship belt - and ruin WrestleMania. With the help of WWE superstars like John Cena, Sin Cara, AJ Lee and more, Scooby and the gang hope to put a stop to the evil ghost bear's tirade and save the show. But who is the ghost bear? And will Shaggy and Scooby have to resort to getting into the ring themselves?I had very high hopes for this movie, both as a WWE and Scooby Doo fan. And I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Obviously WWE City doesn't really exist, and WrestleMania never took place there, and there are several other inaccuracies such as the WWE championship supposedly being made out of pure gold and jewels. But as this is a Scooby Doo movie as much as a WWE movie, you just have to let those sorts of things slide and really admire the story for what it is. The humour is what you'd expect from a Scooby Doo cartoon, and the way the WWE superstars interact with Scooby and the gang really does feel believable - like this how they would interact with the gang if they showed up at the real WrestleMania, or even on an episode of Raw or Smackdown. The story sticks to the formula of a traditional Scooby Doo cartoon, whist giving us many enjoyable appearances from such superstars as Triple H, Kane and Michael Cole. There are even some unexpected cameos from other superstars and legends like Sgt. Slaughter, Jimmy Hart and Jerry the King Lawler.This may not have been the first time Scooby Doo was involved with wrestling - as the bonus episode of "A Pup named Scooby Doo" on the DVD demonstrates - but "WrestleMania Mystery" is definitely the most fun and entertaining to watch. I think it was a great idea for WWE Studios and Warner Bros to make a crossover like this, because it does well to honour both franchises, and shows just how popular and successful they really are. When wrestling stars get to appear in an animated film alongside one of the best cartoon characters ever created, and when a carton character gets to work alongside a wrestling company that's got its own network, you know it's going to be big.This is a highly recommended DVD for any fan of Hanna-Babera, wrestling, Scooby Doo or the WWE. It's as entertaining for adults as it is for kids, and if you were to see it you'd agree that it's impossible to dislike. It's very deserving of the 5-star rating I've given it. Warner Bros and WWE Studios seem to think so too, because they're already planning to release another WWE/Hanna-Barbera crossover - this time with the Flinstones. Personally I don't think it'll be as good or believable as "WrestleMania Mystery", because of the historical setting and lesser popularity of the Flinstones. But it should still be good for what it is. Not only that, but a sequel to this DVD is even being planned for 2016, with rumours that Hulk Hogan will appear in it!If you want something that feels like a traditional 80s cartoon, but with a modern day twist to it, that has sports, action and mystery, then you should get online or down to your nearest DVD shop and pick up a copy of this WWE/Scooby Doo masterpiece. You'll love it!

I expected a lot out of this film as the two elements are two of my favourite things around and it did not disappoint! A superb voice cast along with very clever puns and sequences, including some extremely funny 'blink and you'll miss them' moments and an absolutely fabulous updated version of the classic Scooby chase make it entertaining for all! Obviously the main part of the film is the Scooby Doo mystery and the climax is a match at Wrestlemania with Shaggy, Scooby and Kane. This section, although entertaining, culminates in a completely bizarre ending!Ultimately it is well worth buying and is extremely entertaining. Worth watching again and again and does not get boring, there is always something you did not notice before.The shining star is Triple H and he is a fantastic voice actor. It is a shame that Santino wasn't used more as I believe he could have added some more great comedic moments in the film.

I liked this product as its very good for the Scooby doo & wwe fans as both are brought together in this animated movie fantastic. Theres nothing that I don't like about this product as its a fantastic gift for all ages don't hesitate buy it as the big kid in you will love it to. Adults & kids will all love this movie.

Being a fan of Scooby Doo and WWE I had to buy this film. It did not disappoint. Absolutely fantastic film and I highly recommend it for both Scooby Doo and WWE fans, especially John Cena fans. So many best bits I can't actually pick out one. Will be watching this again and again.

I would give this 6 starts if I could, you watch this movie for Scooby Doo. But after watching the first ten minutes you end up fangirling over John Cena and how he wins at life. With John Cena puns and supernatural feats of strength from the worlds favorite wrestler its a wonder why this hasn't won an Oscar.

Bought this because Scooby Doo was my favourite cartoon as a child, and for my love of the WWE when i was younger, met in this brilliant movie. I am now 19 years old, and having not watched either shows for quite a few years, I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed it! The only reason I haven't awarded this 5 stars is simply because, it didn't include my favourite WWE superstars (very particular and nit picky, admittedly), but I feel if it included people like, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker etc. It would be a lot more successful and probably make for better viewing. Nevertheless, a very enjoyable film and a well worth the buy!

Love this dvd. I use to watch Scooby Doo when I was younger and am a massive WWE fan. The combination is great. For any Scooby Doo and WWE fan, I recommend this dvd.

This is an absolutely banging film. The greatest of ALL time. Genuinely, if you were only to watch one film in your life, IT SHOULD BE THIS ONE. A majestic, life changing motion picture. Simply top. 10/10 would watch again.AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA!!!!!!!!

Non-US dvd and a very unkind note on the front blaming me for buying the wrong DVD it was extremely rudely worded I checked the listing several times and saw no region code I think they need to change the description to non-US
