Review: Great read! - Tokyo Ghoul was a great read! One of my favourite mangas! (More detail than the anime) Review: Fantastic volume. - After watching the anime first, i wanted to read this great series instantly. after reading volume 7, it concluded what season 1 of the anime had to offer. But this is a great manga continuation after season 1 in the anime. personally I think this volume should of been included in season 1 to summarise the anime and its epic climax. I love the story and where its headed thus far. Already have volume 9 on the way and I am already anticipating the 10th volume! A must read for any manga lover!

Different from the TV series
Different from the TV series. I feel the TV one is better in some ways, but then again only so much a 2D comic can portray. I'm a big fan so I enjoyed reading the comics.

YAY KANEKI! Volume 7 and Volume 8 are the major turning points for our beloved Kaneki, who starts out wishy-Washy. Kaneki's escaped Yamori after a brutal fight and is running through the towers in search of Banjo and the others. Our team of ghouls is fighting to find Kaneki and save him from whatever torment he's had to endure. Kaneki does find the group who's helped him out but doesn't run with them, instead he goes after Touka. The high strung ghoul is having to face the hardest thing, her younger brother who's set on attacking her. In this volume we get to delve into Touka's secret past a little as Touka and Ayato battle it out. Ayato believes he's the stronger one of the siblings because he's a "true" ghoul who doesn't try to "fit" into the human world. We all know Touka is amazing, but fighting your own sibling is hard. Especially when it's the younger sibling you had promised to look after. Cliffhanger from the other volume is The One Eyed Owl! Apperantly this SSS class ghoul has been very quiet for ten years and now suddenly he appears out of nowhere? The Doves are forced to confront this ghoul again though the one who was thought to have defeated the ghoul isn't present. Two investigators take on the ghoul with the unique prototypes Arata, Kokaku. Similar to that of Yamori's in which it mainly engulfed his body with the Kagune. But will a human be able to withstand such a powerful Quinque? How will the prototype hold up against such a powerful ghoul? Kaneki swoops in to help Touka with her tough fight. Let's just say you'll be in love with Kaneki by the end of the volume. He, he, he. He's no longer that timid college student we saw within the first couple of books. The Aogiri Tree is still very mysterious and Kaneki wants to get to the heart of everything. Including the truth behind Rize and the "accident" that caused his life to change and her's to end. I do love how even though Rize died in the first volume we still get to see her throughout the series. Cussing and violence is a given. I'm loving this series so much to the point I'm bugging my husband asking for the next books. . . I cannot wait to read on and see more of Kaneki and how he's grown. Not to mention the rest of the cast and of course see more of our eccentric Juzo.
