Fantastic quality pot, but be prepared to season it properly!
This pot is quite simply outstanding quality cast iron and I have cooked four top notch slow cooked casseroles in it over an open fire on a tripod now. It is going to last for ever, fact. And it cleans out with the wipe of a cloth, no water even needed all four times. BUT. If you want to get the best out of this pot and you can, you need to be willing to put in the time to season it properly before using it. This means spending a couple of hours rubbing lard into it and the lid and shoving it into the oven to take in the oil and then repeating that three or four times, until every scrap of this pot and lid and underside is bathed in baked in oil. This is what will give your pot it's none sticky brilliance, if you don't do this you are going to get sticking food, burned culinary disasters and after cooking you will get rust if you don't wipe it out and then give it a layer of oil or fat to go to bed with until you are ready to use it again. I'm genuinely thrilled to have got such a good pot at such a reasonable price, but you have to oil them properly before use and season the oil with heat to get them off to a good start. Look on youtube for how to do this and don't take short cuts. If you do it all properly you will reap the benefits of a truly phenomenal, inexpensive and none stick cast iron pot that can cook anything without sticking or burning that will go to bed clean after a wipe out and a goodnight layer of oil. Really great pot, I'm very happy with it, should last for donkeys years given the correct cast iron oiling love.

Perfect for outdoor cooking.
Well made cast iron pot with a tight-fitting lid. Holds enough for 5 or 6 generous servings. Sturdy handle allowing you to suspend the oven over your fire, effective lid remover supplied. Cleaned up as new after cooking in the coals for a few hours. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Brilliant.
Great product and does exactly what it should. I’m originally from South Africa where we cook on Poitjie pots (round bulbous cauldrons) but they’re about £100 for a small’ish one so I got this instead. It does the same thing and as long as you remember to not leave it in water and to oil it when you store it then it won’t rust and will last forever. Nothing beats the taste of food cooked on cast iron.
