Minisopuru DS808 DisplayLink Docking Station 3 Monitors with 2 HDMI 2 DP

I bought a few docking stations and this one works with the computer and is able to extend the display to two monitors and it seems it can extend up to three other monitors. I initally bought two other cheaper docking station on the market but neither of them worked. However, the docking station that I got for my wife's computers works. It made me wonder if it is because of the docking station instead of the monitor or the computer. I did some research and found out the cheaper docking stations are passive station that requires the computer output the video signal whearas the a bit more expensive ones can actively convert the signals to the monitor. The product descriptions never tell about the difference and I figured it out after I got this product.This one is a bit more expensive, but it works and can convert the vidoe signals from a USB output. the only drawback is that it doesn't have a VGA connetor and I had to buy a VGA to HDMI connector to make it work. I am happy with it and it has all the functions I need and is able to extend my computer's monitor and have more USB outlets to use with other accessories.

This was a great purchase! Price is good compared to other docking stations and it works for my Macbook Air M2 laptop.I have two older Dell model monitors that does not have HDMI, it only has VGA and DP. I needed a docking stations with at least 2 Dport ports or VGA and Dport. This has two DP ports, my monitors work great and I can use my dual monitors no problem!The dock also has many USB ports so I was able to hook up my camera, Logitech mouse and Logitech keyboard. Im not a fan of the apple keyboard or apple magic mouse so I like that I’m able to use my previous PC accessories.There is no lag and good quality. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something affordable and compatible for your macbook.

I purchased this Minispuru DS808 DisplayLink docking station at the end of May 2023. It barely lasted a year before the display out ports started to fail on the back. I thought perhaps it was the cables, but despite trying different brand new HDMI cables, and even trying different monitors, the display out functions started to intermittently fail until they stopped working all together in December of 2024. I filed a support claim, and their customer support is atrocious. I had to send REPEATED emails to get their attention, and then once they agreed to replace the unit (only after I sent my defective one back mind you)… I never got any tracking numbers OR any confirmation emails saying that they sent it out! I had to email bombard them after not receiving anything for weeks until I FINALLY got a confirmation that they’d not forgotten about my replacement.I finally received the second unit, and then starting in August of 2025, one of my two displays started cutting out again and everything would default back to one display! RIDICULOUS. I am now starting the painful process of getting it replaced, although I have half a mind to dispense with Minisopuru all together for literally any other option.For those wondering, yes, I’ve always made sure my computer OS was up-to-date, AND that I downloaded and had installed the latest version of the DisplayLink drivers.These units are built poorly, the performance is even worse, and the Minisopuru Customer Service is ABYSMAL.

Another update:In summary of what the issues were.1. Network speeds were well below the 1Gb/s advertised2. USB 3.0 devices connected to the dock were connecting to a USB 2.0 hub/speed according to the Mac3. High pitch whine when connecting to the audio jack on the dock4. Video response time was laggy on monitors connected to video ports 2 & 3After working with Minisopuru support it was determined that the dock that I received was defective. Thank you to Kevin on their support team who spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting with me. Not only did they refund me for the defective dock, they sent me a new dock at no cost. The new dock resolved issues 1, 2 & possibly part of #4The remaining issues I have are not specifically related to the dock itself. Issue #3 is a high pitch whine when connecting audio to the dock. This appears to be an issue with my DisplayPort KVM and its audio cables and how it works with the dock, not the dock itself. This wasn't the case on the previous dock I had. I found a work around using equipment I already had that resolved this to my satisfaction.The second remaining issue has to do with the performance of the DisplayLink chip set and drivers. The screen performance can be laggy on monitors connected to video ports 2 & 3. According to DisplayLink support this is due to how the DisplayLink software and chipset provide support for 3 monitors. For me I moved the monitor connectors around so my primary monitor was connected to video port 1. Since the dock uses USB to transport the video signal from the MacBook to the monitors I suspect the defective dock contributed to this issue but I think this is mainly due to limitations of the DisplayLink technology which may be be improved with driver updates.Again, thank you to Kevin on their support team for working with me to find the cause of and a resolution to these issues.*** old review ***Review update:After spending a few days with this dock it has been removed from my environment. Not only was I experiencing lagging video with the monitors not connected to port one on the dock as I mentioned below I also found that the physical ethernet network connection was limited to 250Mbps, not 1Gbps, and ALL the USB 3.2 ports on the front of the dock are actually USB 2.0 and only provide 480Mbps of bandwidth/speed. I've included screen shots from my Mac System Information screen showing what is in the dock. A USB 3.2 connected device should have, as they claim, 5Gbps speed when connected to the dock. That is not the case when connecting to this dock. The screen shot showing 5Gbps is when I connected the SSD to the MacBook itself.I contacted support about all these issues and they tried to explain the issues away. For the network speeds they said I wasn't using a "Super 6" ethernet cable and that was causing my problems. I tried multiple cables with the dock, all of which provide full 1Gbps bandwidth when connected to other devices no issue. So it's not the network cable.I believe Minisopuru KNOWS that this dock doesn't provide what they claim based on the fact that after the 2nd email to support discussing my issues (before I found the network speed issues and USB port issues) they offered me a full refund for the dock. If the dock performed/provided what it claims I would expect them to offer a replacement since it was defective. The offer of the refund is the ONLY positive thing I can say about Minisopuru.If you don't believe what I'm saying check for yourself. On the Mac go to System Information and select USB and look at the dock USB ports, they will show they are USB 2.0 ports. A USB 3.0/3.1/3.2 device will show as being that version. Network wise, if your internet speed/bandwidth is above 250Mb/s visit a speed test site on the internet and see what speeds you get.**** old review ****I got this dock to connect my new 16" MacBook Pro to my three monitors on my desk, USB-A devices, physical ethernet connection, and speakers. Only the USB-A device connections have not caused me issues. I will start with the least annoying issue:The physical ethernet connection is not connecting using the USB 10/100/1000 LAN as is listed in the question section on Amazon site, instead it shows up and connects with USB Display??? Talk about not making sense.Audio wise when connecting the audio jack on the front of the dock to my DisplayPort KVM there is horrible feedback. This could be with the the KVM itself but I didn't experience this with the previous dock I had so I'm not sure if it is the KVM or the dock. I can work around this.The worst issue is the screen performance, and one I don't think I can work around it. On the monitor connected to port one on the dock the animations, moving windows, etc is a smooth as it is when connected directly to the MacBook. On monitors 2 and 3 it is a different story. Anything that moves too quick on the screen, like dragging windows, minimizing/maximizing animations are choppy/laggy very noticeably. I have the latest DisplayLink drivers installed and tried different screen resolutions with no change. I have emailed both Minisopuru and Displaylink support about this. Hopefully they will have a resolution for it. If not, this might be show stopper for me.

Do I know why? I do not know why. I had to go into the "system audio recording only" submenu of the privacy and security audio and video recording section, and manually add DisplayLink. Then, all of a sudden, my monitors connected. Then I had to take one more step (this is probably about the monitors) and change the resolution to get them to display properly. Finally, after wanting to burn technology to the ground and go live like a cavewoman, I, yes, have 3 properly working screens, including my built-in display. This is not on this docking station, but something to note for people trying to use it with a Macbook and experiencing difficulty (M1, myself).Otherwise, love it. Love that it has lots of connections, has its own power source so it's not draining your computer as you use it, can charge the supply computer and other devices, and has an audio jack for those of us with older external speakers. I changed jobs recently and went from employer-supplied home office tech (basically bring your own desk and chair) to my own equipment (bring your own everything), and this has *finally* made it work properly...3 screens, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and all.

The Minisopuru Displaylink Triple Display Docking Station works as described and is small. I don't have three monitors to connect at once, but I have tested all other functions, including two monitors at once. Video is sharp and fast, both HDMI and DP. Currently, I'm using it to dock a MacBook Air to my TV via HDMI and charge it simultaneously. The docking station is well-designed, with front USB ports, leaving what will stay plugged in less visible in back. If you want to charge your laptop with it a separate charger must be connected by USB-C, but most of us have a few of those lying around.

I'm taking 2 stars off not because it doesn't work because it does, and you do need the display link driver which I'm used to. The star reduction is because the dock requires both a wallwart power adapter and a USB c charger. I expected a 100w adapter to power the dock and charge. In my mind this is a completely unnecessary extra wire I have to deal with on a desk with very many wires already. Seems like a self imposed limitation. Not a big enough deal to return and in light of the price I'll keep it. It passes, thus 3 stars, an adequate product.I tried it with mixed monitor resolutions which was the main issue with my old display link dock, it didn't work over 1080p. This one does as advertised and I can get my full 1440p resolution out and a spare 1080p. I assume the 3rd output will work as well. It gained points with me for the Ethernet also working. With docks on my work machine, I've had many fail to connect to the Internet this one does.

So there are a few docking stations listed on this ad currently - this review is for the 13 in 1, that doesn’t say it’s display link, but it is in the title. I’d assume it applies to the display link one too, but, I’m not 100% certain.This is a hybrid display link docking station. 1 video output isn’t display link at all - which allows you to use it without the drivers. This also allows it to be used with your phone - and boot up samsung DEX, or just have a larger screen with a keyboard and mouse. At least one of the other two outputs do use display link, and as such you need to install the drivers for it. The great thing about display link is that it works like an external graphics card. This means it’s not loading up your usb c port, and also means you can run that video output off of a USB A for these displays. The third great thing is for the Mac guys that can’t run different things on multiple displays. If you don’t need display link for one of these reasons, then you should be saving yourself $100+ and buying something else.I do love that the guides and manuals are listed in the ad and can be downloaded prior to purchase. I wish more companies did that! The unit itself is solid and has some weight behind it. It’s just a little bigger than my cell phone and about twice as thick. It comes with it’s own power supply, which needs to be used, but powers the unit only. USB charging your laptop requires a second power supply - which worked fine for my computers that draw 65w (rated at 100W). The unit itself draws about 2.2W when not in use, and about 3.3 when it is. It does get a little warm, but definitely not hot.I love that it comes with the necessary drivers on a USB key - and it also includes a usb A to USB c adapter if you are using it with an older computer (like I am). On that note - I used the drivers, and everything worked - except if the computer went to sleep I would get no monitors when it turned back on. I’d have to do a hard reset. Even after unplugging it I had the same issue. This was with windows 11, however a system restore fixed it back up (temporarily I just had to do a hard reset). The next time I used the display link drivers found on the internet and didn’t have that issue. It may have been a one off, or unrelated, but I would still suggest using the ones online, and they do direct you there in the literature as I don’t think I’m supposed to/allowed to endorse/link other websites in a review.Like I said in the title - nothing fancy about it - it just works. Using USB A I did get a max of 4k at 30Hz, so I went to 2k at 60 Hz. This restriction doesn’t apply to usb C applications. It included everything I needed - the usb c double ended cord, USB A to C adapter, and the required 12V 3A power supply with barrel connector.

Setting this up was a relief. The Minisopuru station has a hefty, metallic build that feels expensive in your hand, unlike the hollow plastic hubs I've used before. I was worried about my M2 MacBook handling three screens, but the DisplayLink tech kicked in immediately. Everything stayed sharp and snappy without that annoying lag you sometimes get with cheaper adapters.And the port variety is just wild. Having two HDMI and two DisplayPort options means I didn't have to go hunting for specific cables to match my mismatched monitors. The 100W power delivery is the real hero here though. It keeps my laptop fully charged even when I'm running heavy video edits and have five other things plugged in. It stays surprisingly cool to the touch even after a full workday.But I wanted to see if those USB ports could really walk the walk. I plugged in three high-speed SSDs and started moving big files simultaneously. While they are rated for 5Gbps, I did notice a small slowdown when I pushed all of them at once. It's not a massive drop, but it's something to keep in mind if you're planning on running a full server rack's worth of data through these ports at the exact same second.So, if you're tired of plugging and unplugging stuff every time you move your laptop, this is the fix. It handles the triple-monitor load beautifully and keeps the desk looking professional. It’s a solid, reliable brick of tech that hasn't let me down yet. I'm happy with how it transformed my chaotic workspace into something organized.

Ich habe die Dockingstation von Minisopuru nun einige Wochen im Einsatz und bin insgesamt positiv überrascht. Die Verarbeitung ist wirklich sehr gut, das Metallfinish wirkt hochwertig und das ovale Design hebt sich von vielen anderen Modellen angenehm ab. Besonders praktisch finde ich die Möglichkeit, mehrere Bildschirme anzuschließen. Ich nutze ein MacBook Pro mit M1-Chip und betreibe daran zwei selbst gebaute 5K-Displays – das funktioniert problemlos und ohne Verzögerungen. Ein großer Pluspunkt ist außerdem, dass ein Netzteil inkludiert ist, das das MacBook mit Strom versorgt. Laut Produktbeschreibung sollen 100 Watt bereitgestellt werden, tatsächlich kommen bei mir allerdings nur rund 85 Watt an. Vermutlich benötigt die Dockingstation selbst auch etwas Leistung, aber da die M1-Prozessoren sehr energieeffizient sind, reicht die Stromversorgung dennoch aus. Einen kleinen Kritikpunkt habe ich: Mir fehlen einige USB-C-Anschlüsse mit hoher Datenrate (10 Gigabit). Gerade bei einer Dockingstation mit mehreren USB-C-Ports wäre es angenehm, wenn diese direkt an der Station vorhanden wären. Wer also auf viele schnelle USB-C-Anschlüsse angewiesen ist, sollte sich nach Alternativen umsehen. Für alle, die vor allem eine solide und einfach zu nutzende Dockingstation für mehrere externe Bildschirme suchen, ist dieses Modell aber eine gute Wahl. Insgesamt gebe ich vier von fünf Sternen.
