Elegant and functional design, very clear display
Firstly, the sclae looks great, it is sleek and shiny with a black glass top and a blue on black LCD display. It is only about 1cm thick and resembles a tablet pc! Not only does it look great but it works very well. This scale has a relatively large platform compared to some (as it is rectangular rather than square) and this means the display is clearly visible even when using larger bowls. The seamless one piece glass top means the electronic and mechanical innards are not affected by liquid or flour ingress (as had happened on the scale this one replaces). The buttons are just touch sensitive parts of the glass, so no gaps or moving parts.Operation is simple, a gentle press on the power button turns the scale on, units selected with the left hand button. To zero the display simply press power/tare again. A 2 second hold on the power button turns the scale off. The scale automatically turns off after 2 minutes of inactivity (a reasonable time to get more items from the cupboard, and longer than some that can be frustrating when the weight is lost as they switch off after 30 seconds). The scale weighs up to 5kg which is fine for domestic kitchen use (if you need to weigh more than that perhaps you should use the bathroom scales), though I believe Ozeri also sell a 7.7kg model. It weighs in 1mg increments (or 0.05oz). It takes a second or two for the scale to stabilise, sometimes shifting up or down a gram; this is explained in the instructions. The scale uses two CR2032 lithium batteries. Some people complain about this type of cell, but they are widely available. Don't pay £2 per cell that your supemarket charges, shop online and you can get five or more for that price. I don't know how long the cells will last in this particular scale, but with others I am used to 3 or 4 months use, which is reasonable. The small batteries obviously allow the scale to be designed with such a low profile.Build quality looks and feels excellent. The scale comes attractively boxed, and comes complete with a clear instruction booklet and another book with energy (calorie) values for a vast range of foods, which will be helpful if or when I need to take some control of my diet!Overall, I am extremely impressed with this product, and at the price I think it is unbeatable.

Great!!!!
Sleek, slim, stylish and easy to use. Really good (NOTE - Batteries that are supplied are half full so be prepared to stock up on new batteries but it's just to start you off). Quick delivery, easy service. Nice one!

Spot on Accuracy
Great Set of Scales that look good and most importantly, are accurate.Out of the box, these scales are slim, light and really look good. The black glass gives it a high quality and the display is actually backlit with a blue light which looks nice and is easy to read. Its also easy to read from various angles which helps a lot when you have a big bowl on the scales. The controls are very simple and the same as pretty much all other electronic scales.I tested the scales with various weights from a science lab and every time it was either spot on or just 1 g out. This is more than acceptable for kitchen scales. The tare functions is pretty standard although the scale can deal with negative numbers which comes in handy now and again. Also in the box is an instruction manual and a large booklet listing the calorific contents of hundreds of foods. This might be useful to someone I guess but I like to track Macronutrients and besides all this information is freely available on the internet.Overall this is great set of scales and given the price I would 100% recommend.

Looks nice but thats all
I don't really like it. The on/off button is very hard to switch on, and when you press it the scale tips over, as it's so light. Bad design, would not buy another one.

Is compact and does the job
This weighing scale is fine if you want to measure small quantities and don't care much about it's appearance, fit with your kitchen decor etc. The weighing surface is quite tiny. While it is glass (which is nice), the rest of the scale is made out of a cheap plastic. I can't vouch for its accuracy though it seems pretty accurate to me. Also, it has touch screen buttons (rather than real buttons) which means you inadvertently turn on the scale when you pick it up. All in all worth the money.

Very sleek and slick
Having had enough of Salter scales as they give up after a year or two I've decided to try a different make. I haven't had these for long but they've been put to very good use over the Christmas period.Initially we thought that the scales were not very well balanced but it turned out that we were pressing the 'buttons' far too hard and up-ending them! The scales require the lightest of touches to activate which is wonderful when you realise this!. The measurements are easy to change, resetting to zero is simple, and switching off is a matter of holding the power button for a couple of seconds if you don't want to wait for it to automatically switch off after a couple of minutes. The scales are easy to keep clean - just a simple wipe down, with no buttons to get clogged up with flour, water,etc..They also look very stylish; in fact they've been mistaken for a tablet on our kitchen work surface! So far I'm very impressed but only time will tell. For the money they are excellent value. Even if I have to replace them after a year or two I would choose these scales over any of my previous Salter sets. :)

There are scales out there with a good accuracy and reviews for £10 which come with a ...
Total TUTT! Crystal display has broken and keeps flickering so unusable. Bought a stash of batteries so I thought maybe they where faulty, so bought more but it was not them but the scales stuck with a load of batteries I have no use for. Kept the scales in a special place and handled them with kit gloves and this happens. Pitiful warrenty of only 1 year so I am not covered, hardly used them. There are scales out there with a good accuracy and reviews for £10 which come with a 10 Year warrenty. I thought I was investing very dissapointed would not go near this brand again.
