Packer writes very clearly in the first section about what's happening with Google Analytics and why you'd want to use something else. He then goes through a BUNCH of alternatives and looks at them in detail.I wasn't even halfway through the first part before I was thinking there are people in my company who really NEED to read this.

Good book, saves a lot of time if you need to figure all these things out. Recommended.
