Excellent power supply
Excellent power supply. From the moment you open the box you get the feeling this is a premium product. The power supply comes packaged in a branded cloth pouch and all the necessary cables are included in a thicker folding pouch that velcro fastens to keep any spares you don't use in your system neatly. A testing plug is also included which is useful. These are obviously small touches that might not matter to some but it gives the impression that EVGA are paying attention to the details. The cables are all labelled for purpose and are very well constructed and the black braiding is very neat and looks excellent in any black themed build. They feel very solid while still being flexible enough for some tricky positioning jobs. Due to space constraints I have 3 SSDs and a HDD mounted in brackets right next to each other. With several other supplies I have owned the SATA power cables would be too stiff to connect all these together at all in some cases and certainly not without concern of damaging the connections of the drives. There is no such issue here. The one thing I would mention that I think others have noted is that the 24-pin is quite tight when plugging it into the motherboard. I would rather that than loose but you may have to push a bit harder than some people would be comfortable with to make sure you have a full connection. I find this a minor issue given how good the rest of the package is but you may want to be careful with this. The supply itself feels solidly built with all the connections helpfully labeled and again looks great in any black themed system. The operation is near silent (I can only hear it when testing on its own as even my CPU cooler's pump is louder) and this is without the Eco mode turned on which disables the fan under low load. There is no whining coming from the fan or the supply itself but I will update if anything arises over its lifetime. If you add all these points together with the fact this supply has an incredible 10 year warranty and a great price point for a platinum rated PSU I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone in the enthusiast community.

EPIC
What an epic PSU! I have this running a mining rig with six GPUs and a Core i7 6700K. The power is super stable and I really like the eco switch which turns off the PSU fan if the PSU is cool enough. This significantly reduces noise, so all I hear is the faint whoosh of the GPU fans. The cables are really high quality and covered, all with plenty of length. I cabled up everything including additional power for risers using the SATA connectors and didn't run out of plugs for the GPUs or their additional PCB riser power connections. I run a watt meter to check power draw and it is highly efficient and responds instantly to changes in demand, so I was able to calibrate the power draw of the GPUs and the mobo to a decent sweet spot for mining. I am completely thrilled with this PSU, as it delivered on every need and didn't give me any headaches at all. Solid, heavy, well built and taking great care of my rig.

Seriously high quality PSU for an amazing price with great warranty/customer service
This got a perfect 10/10 rating on jonnyguru.com so if you're looking for a detailed review of its performance and construction please look there.Physically this is a very substantial power supply, it's big and it's heavy but it oozes quality. It's very well presented in its box with plenty of connection cables (with a storage bag/case), velcro cable tidy wraps and other bits and pieces as well as a comprehensive manual. There's an 'eco' mode switch on the back which keeps the internal fan off when the PSU is running cool which minimises noise. It's also Platinum efficiency rated which helps keep running costs down, I've noticed it's pulling less from the wall (using a Kill-a-watt meter) than the 850W XFX (Bronze rated) PSU it's replaced which makes sense given the increased efficiency. Note that PSUs are most efficient around the 40-60% range so it's never a bad thing to buy a PSU with some headroom so that you're not running it close to maximum)Add that to a 10 year warranty and EVGA's well regarded customer service, I think this is a great buy for anyone building a powerful gaming PC.

Delivers the specs, but not the "silent fan" marketing without turning on the ECO button.
Pros: Well... everybody says this is a good PSU and as such, it is a good PSU. Nicely built, stable voltages and no coil whine or other non-typical sound noise. Delivers as it is advertised, and on my situation, powers an OC'd 980ti, i7 6700k, Asus M8H, 2 SSDs, 1 HDD, 6 fans and a D5 pump. I bought this PSU to silence the coil whine my previous Seasonic PSU had and there is no such coil whining sound pattern on this EVGA unit on the same PC. I like that the screws are provided in the box and the watercooling useful PSU starter to prime the pump. The bags are a nice touch, but I don't really suffer from admiring the overall packaging, but it is pretty well done for this product. I like the 10 year warranty even though I pay the shipping costs for an RMA (if that ever happens).So-So: They don't offer a solid EPS connector for the motherboard, peripheral cables are too long and no pure 6-pin PCI-e connector but only as an 8 pin.Cons: The fan IS loud. It sounds weird when the load ramps up, even after the load stops. ECO mode turns the fan silent, however I am worried the PSU will cook itself. So no "silent 140mm dual ball bearing fan" stuff from the manual, and I am disappointed. I think it is vibration noise, so EVGA should install some silicon grommets or fan mounts to keep it quiet. I had a same sound pattern with a certain-premium-Macedonian-river named 12mm fans, and they got silenced using the antivibrational grommets. Docking a star because of the false marketing. Conclusion:I am very sensitive to noise and mileage and overall experience may vary depending on whether you can tolerate the strange vibrational hum the fan makes outside of the ECO mode. The primary reason for me buying this PSU was the jonnyguru review, overall good reviews on other stores where no reviews mentioned coil whine, and I agree - there is no coil whine on my unit. But silent - it is not so you need to turn on that ECO button. Strangely though why EVGA doesn't ship it with ECO mode turned on...

Replaced my old PSU with this after realising a lot ...
Replaced my old PSU with this after realising a lot of the noise in my PC was from the PSU. This thing is almost always silent (the fan doesn't even turn on), and the modular aspect is a must-have (I would not buy a non-modular having built with modular ones). One thing to note is that the supplied cables have capacitors or something inside them, which means there are hard parts to the cables which can be restrictive in certain situations. Whether that causes a problem will depend entirely on your build. At most it will probably be a minor annoyance, and for most people it will be a non-issue. In my case it made it a little difficult to fit three SATA drives next to each other as it was difficult to loop the SATA power connectors so close to each other, but it worked in the end. (It's more a question of "how much can I bend this before it might break?" than "it won't fit". Maybe I was over cautious?)In terms of delivering power, I haven't measured anything, but these are well regarded PSUs by a quality OEM, and I've had zero issues. Would not hesitate to buy this again if I needed similar for another machine.

Excellent.
Excellent. Arrived packaged great, well-built box. Looks great, performs great, stable and solid build quality, fully modular, quiet and competitive price. Sleeved cables, too.Pros:Excellent voltage regulationsQuality ripple dampening.Outstanding quality.Fantastic customer service.Quiet.Great price.Cons:If you have a GPU with dual 8-pin, you need to connect two separate cables, rather than just one. If you want to use a 6pin and 8pin, you need to 2, with 2 6pins just dangling there doing nothing. This could have been solved by using a dual 8pin with a 2-pin splitter.Cables aren't individually sleeved, so they are still pretty messy and annoying at the ends. This is particularly noticeable when you plug in your 24-pin motherboard connector, and your 8pin CPU connector.

Fantastically powerful and quiet high-quality power supply
After my last power supply failed, I did a lot of research into the next one. After all, I think it's the first time a power supply has failed on me, so I wanted something which was modular and could handle a gaming rig whilst not consuming large amounts of power when not needed. As soon as you take it out of the box you notice the high quality of the unit and the leads supplied with it. I will be very surprised if this one fails in a hurry.Installation is straightforward and everything plugged straight into my peripherals out of the box. The Graphics card leads have a 6/8 option, so be careful when you plug those in, but otherwise it's a doddle.I started out with the eco button enabled, but decided to switch it off after a few days. I noticed no increased sound from my rig and it is the quietest it's been in a while. The 850W gives me some leeway to add some peripherals or up my graphics card, eventually. This power supply is heartily recommended.

Silence is golden :)
Hands down the best power supply I've ever used. Packing and presentation is excellent, cables are plain black (no ketchup and mustard) with a decent braid (the best I've seen come with a psu), and more than enough to build a fully kitted out rig with - it even comes with a psu 24pin jumper for if you plan to watercool, neat! In operation the PSU is near silent! My previous corsair CM650 had a tendency to make weird electrical noises at seemingly random intervals, and it became extremely annoying. The EVGA model isn't perceivable until you put your ear right up to it, and even then it's very quiet. Even better is the eco switch that allows the fan to turn off completely at idle temps. It's a bit of a premium, but when you factor in the cost of buying a seperate braided cable kit it's actually cheaper than the competition and you will certainly regret having nasty looking cables down the road in a windowed build. If you're building on newer chipsets like z170 and have a gpu such as the 1070/1080/RX480 then this is more than enough wattage even for SLI!

Parfait
