I can say after using mine, that this unit provides adequate temporary relief to justify its purchase. I have used mine several times and my wife has nearly worn hers out after so many uses. This Belt uses air pressure and relatively stiff materials to maintain proper posture in the lower back and thereby reduces pain, which is the primary function of this unit, I suppose. Regular consistent use appears to allow the lower back to gradually grow stronger and to recover from strain more quickly than other devices I have previously tried. Even though it provides excellent support, it is not harsh in nature, but not so compliant, either, as to be ineffective.
