This is a wonderful product! It is totally clear (see-through), as promised. I ordered two to be "permanent placemats" over my marble-topped table, so I could enjoy the natural beauty of the stone and not have to cover it up. It is not even noticeable as you walk by -- you see the entire marble top of my table. So happy with this!It arrives in a very tightly rolled tube (maybe tighter than needed), but not hard to open. Just be careful when cutting open the foil wrap it comes in so that you don't cut the mat. There is a little plastic odor, but not bad at all and most would not notice it. However, I aired my out for a few days in my garage and laid it across some items for the curl to flatten out.The edges of one of the mats immediately laid flat, but the other was still curling a bit. I just put a few heavy books around the edges for about a week and that did the trick.I recommend these for any surface you would like to protect. The thickness is (to me) perfect -- thick enough to stay flat, protect the surface against damage, and look invisible. Seems like it will last for a long time.

Exactly what we were looking for! We have an old home with very little counter space and cabinets. Therefor we had to build a large multipurpose counter/storage for our kitchen. It came out perfectly, but with prices as they are, we used what we had available. It came out beautifully. But we needed something to cover the wood, but leave it showing to match the aesthetic of the old farm house we reside in. This mat was absolutely PERFECT. It’s the perfect length and width. Cleans easily, allows the beautiful burnt and sealed wood top to shine through, without having to worry about crumbs dropping through the fine seams between the natural pieces we used. It seems durable but I still use heat protection/mats beneath hot pans when placing them. Rather be safe than sorry!Once it’s been laid out, you WILL have to use something heavy on the ends to get it to lay flat, but it took only a couple hours for it to do so. This is absolutely exactly what we needed and we are very happy with this purchase.

Just what I needed to protect camper bed side furnishings. I needed 2 16x42 pieces but it was almost 2 times the price of ordering just one 16x84 piece and cutting it myself. It did have that plastic smell you get with shower curtains, plastic pool inflatables, etc. but did go away once aired out. It is perfect thickness to prevent from damaging furnishings and water damage. I ordered one for my camper table as well but it hasn’t arrived yet. Shiny plastic-my husband thought it was wet when he stepped in camper until I told him what I did. I like it easily rolls up for storage when not needed to let wood breathe to avoid mildew/mold. I do Recommend this item.

Thick and clear. I use for my desktop, computer, monitor, other items on top. Need to roll in opposite direction an leave sitting that way for a few days. Corners continue to curl a bit for a while. I have rolled it in the other direction, then placed heavy objects on the corners. After several months, with the corners weighted by various computer/desk items, it still curls very slightly, but it's OK to use.

The protective cover was exactly what I needed. Perfect size that I ordered. I like the thickness and crystal clear appearance. It is being used to protect my nightstand because I often place drinks on it. I placed the protective cover over the nightstand cloth cover so you are able to see the covering. It has the appearance of glass over cloth. Very nice! I’m very pleased with the purchase and definitely would buy again.

We were able to purchase the exact size we needed for our new desk. It looks Awesome! We like that we can see thru the product to see the desk. It is almost like nothing is there yet the surface of the desk is protected from spills. Perfect thickness and an exact size. My son & I used a blow dryer for a few minutes to get the product to lay flat. We highly recommend this product! Thank you! Charles

The plastic protector arrived as described. I am happy with the product.The protector came with a 'suggestion/tips' card on how to best set the protector on top of a table or desk. Applying heavy books on top of the protector, on top of the intended desk was what worked for me. There is still a slight curl at one corner, but more time with heavy books or a heat gun will take it flat.If you are putting the plastic on top of furniture with varnish on it, I recommend laying acid-free muslin underneath between the top and the plastic. Overtime, I have found that the varnish on furniture will react to plastic and soften the varnish. I would not use the suggested double-sided tape dots on wood furniture you care about. It shouldn't be necessary if you're able to successfully flatten the plastic protector.

This is the second one I have purchased-- one is on a writing table in my living room and one on a crafting table. Both tables have beautiful wood finishes and this cover allows me to enjoy the beautiful wood but use the table without worry of damage. The cover comes rolled and needs a little time to relax, but I didn't need to do anything but give it a few days and then both were perfectly flat. The measurements are exact, the corners have a slight rounding (as shown in the photos) and the product is thick and yet crystal clear. I plan to order another for my dining table. This is a unique product that I was very happy to find and is definitely worth the cost.
