Games Workshop Warhammer 40,000 Shadow War Armageddon Rulebook

Shadow War is a quick to play game, with battles rarely lasting more than 1.5hrs, sometimes as little as 0.5hrs. You only need 4-15 models to play (depending on the faction) which makes it a great starting place if you don't have the time or money to invest in its big cousin, Warhammer 40,000. The rules can be a little tricky to pick up for new players (you will be very much helped if you played early editions of 40k) and it isn't a perfect game by any means, but lends itself to little epic moments.League play is especially fun, and the low investment required meant my gaming club attracted a lot of new players. We have played two leagues worth of this game and are likely to go back to it in favour of the newer 40k Kill Team, which shows the game has both nuance and fun at its core.

Great skirmish game set in a compelling part of the Warhammer universe. No longer officially supported but the models required are all available so you can still play these rules. Good retro warhammer fun.
