Works perfectly with XBox360 Guitar Hero!
I still have my old guitar from the heady days of playing Guitar Hero on Xbox 360 with my family. After reading about people managing to get the games working on PC along with Clone Hero, I figured I'd try this. The device is just a small black box connected to your PC via the attached USB cable. Once I'd set up the drivers for Windows 10 (see below), I connected the guitar and loaded Clone Hero. Everything just worked and within five minutes of connecting this receiver I was playing.I know from reading comments online that some people have had issues with lag when playing Clone Hero with a wireless controller like the guitar I have. However, I had no problems with this at all. Clone Hero does have settings you can tweak to mitigate this.In terms of trying to get the original Guitar Hero games working, I haven't yet tried. Clone Hero is a native Windows app and so doesn't require any kind of emulation to work.In terms of the hardware and performance, I cannot fault this little device. Once the drivers were set up, it just worked without any further need of configuration. If you use Windows 10 and want to use this, here's how I got it working. It takes less than two minutes:The drivers for this should be already available in Windows.Plug the receiver into a USB port.Open Control Panel.Open Device Manager.Look down the list for 'Other Devices', 'Unknown Device' or similar. It will be the one with a yellow triangle icon against it.Right click this entry and select 'Update Driver'.Select 'Browse my computers for drivers'.Then select 'Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer'.You should then see a list of Xbox 360 devices. Select the one labelled 'Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows' and click 'Next'.You'll then get a warning popup about installing unverified drivers. Click 'Yes'.The drivers should then install and you're good to go.

Works great but you need to manually add the driver
Works great on Win 11 Pro x64 but you do need to manually install the Xbox 360 wireless controller the first time you use it and then it works fine, easy to connect up to 4 controllers to a PC . I followed AG's instructions which are here for your convenience but full credit to AG - thanksOpen Device Manager: Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.Find the Device: Look for the "Unknown device" under Other Devices or Universal Serial Bus Controllers.Update the Driver:Right-click the "Unknown device" and select "Update driver."Choose "Browse my computer for drivers."Select "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer."Select the Driver:Scroll down to "Microsoft" and select "Xbox Controller."Click "Next" to install.Start Your Controller:Press the Xbox button on the controller.

Works well with Xbox 360 guitar on PC after setup
I bought this wireless USB receiver specifically to use an Xbox 360 guitar controller with Clone Hero on PC, and it’s been doing exactly what I needed it to do.What I like:Worked with my Xbox 360 guitar once the correct driver was installedStable connection during gameplay with no noticeable input lagCompact and easy to leave plugged into a desktop or laptopMuch cheaper than trying to find an original Microsoft receiverThings to be aware of:Driver installation isn’t fully plug‑and‑play and may take a bit of manual setup, especially on newer versions of WindowsNo instructions included, so some basic familiarity with device manager helpsBuild quality is fine, but feels fairly lightweightOnce set up, it’s been reliable for Clone Hero sessions with no random disconnects or missed inputs. Compared to wired alternatives, it’s far more convenient, and compared to the original Microsoft receiver, performance feels essentially the same for this type of use.Overall, this is a solid and affordable solution if you want to use Xbox 360 wireless controllers — particularly guitars — on a PC. I’ve rated it 4 stars due to the setup process, but once configured it works well and does the job reliably.

Works great
Worked perfectly with Windows 10 once installed using the instructions on the video; essentially it boils down to installing the Microsoft wireless adapter driver manually via device manager. No input lag, the only downside I've found is the controller doesn't shut off once the device is unplugged - but removing the battery pack on the controller achieves the same. Also just worked out of the box on the Steam Link which I was not expecting!

Does not work fully under WIn10
At first, I thought this was really good but then it started connecting and disconnecting like Christmas tree lights. like some of the other reviews have said, this may possibly be ok if you have ages to faff with drivers etc...maybe but I doubt it. but this does not plug and play and is basically unusable. avoid. I will be sending mine straight back for a refund!!

Not genuine but genuinely works!
Works exactly as advertised, unlike a genuine XBox 360 receiver it will not install the driver automatically. However, as others have said, selecting the 'Microsoft 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows' driver that is already part of the Windows driver database works, it will complain that the driver/hardware may not match/be suitable, but works fine.

It works with Windows 11
Don't let be fooled by other reviews - it works with Windows 10 and 11!I've been using it for nearly a year among the various updates of Windows. It's tricky as you might need to update the drivers every single time, so it takes 5-10 minutes to set up, but besides that nothing to complain about. Definitely worth the hassle :)

Funktioniert super – Idealer Ersatz-Receiver
Mein kabelloser XBox-360-Controller leistet mir seit zehn Jahren treue Dienste.
