As described.
It works on Linux, and let me talk to a VESC motor controller over CAN bus.

Bad product best to avoid
Mine shorted the can circuit on my car so I sent it back. There was a fault with the gnd pin but that was fine on my version so I am unsure as to why is caused an issue when plugged into my car. Just avoid and spend the money on a proper can bus sniffer.

After reading the various reviews on this, I decided to take a chance. There are a couple reviews here talking about how the CAN-L line is shorted to ground. Indeed this was an issue at one point. Upon reading some of the reviews from other countries, it looks like DSD Tech was aware of the issue and fixed it, commenting as much on various reviews. So I hope that people who got the version shorted were able to get a replacement from DSD Tech. My experience with this has been fine. I did use a multimeter before intial use to see if I got the updated board or not and indeed, my board was fine. No shorts between CAN-L and ground. Instsalled drivers and such on my laptop, hooked up everyting to my 2011 VW Golf. Works fine with both SavvyCan and CANHacker. Using this setup to research the data packets sent over the CANBUS. Once I have all the data I need, I'll use that data with an Arduino Nano and MCP2515 CANBUS module to control some addressable LEDs.
