BIG 12 Ga cord!
I actually used this for a DJ equipment rack. Multiple amplifiers and such, big power hogs. Most all of the DJ rack mounted power conditioners use small 14-16 Ga power cables tho. Smaller than the amps. I went with this as it has a much larger power cable. Worked great!

Would definitely buy again
Great for a small server rack for distribution to power. I used a UPS for battery back up, the system is working great.

Horrible quality control
It's very unfortunate that the seller doesn't keep tabs on the manufacturer in China that they have contracted to produce these units for them.1st off - any nutbar can plainly see the the outlets are mounted upside down. A quick Google search will prove this and would have taken under 30 seconds to see which way is the correct way to do it. The ground is always always at the bottom of the outlet.2nd, and more importantly. The screw holes for the rack mount ears are not drilled in the right spot! The rack spacing (screw holes) for a 1U (which is what this is) should be 1.25"!This is drilled about 1/2 a hole off center - as seen in the pictures. This is completely unacceptable and unnecessary to be selling merchandise this poorly made! The only way to fix this is to take a Dremel tool and hog out the holes until they fit the rack. It's a pretty sad fact that the seller isn't on top of these issues and the buyer has to remedy these problemsOtherwise it is a good product, the selling point for me was the detachable power cord so that I can install a very short iec320-C13 cord on it.

Protected my equipment, but too much noise
Illuminated switches were good quality and this unit fit well into my rack. The surge protection successfully tripped and no damage was done to my equipment after a few outages due to storms. However, I was getting a lot of noise in my speakers and crackling when adjusting my volume. I swapped it out with a Furman power condition and my problems went away. Sadly I don't have the ability to easily turn off and on my equipment all in the same spot like this product offered. I probably could use both this and the power conditioner, but don't have the space in my rack for 2U.I'll keep it around in case I have a different use for it like lighting, but be wary of using this with audio devices. I believe I had a similar issue with a competitors product

Simple and Effective
Purchased this for a small homelab type setup, and it arrived rapidly and was packaged well. I love the design of the unit, doesn't take up much space at all in the rack. The ears mounted with minimal fuss and the whole thing feels incredibly sterdy and well-made. The sockets grasp the plugs enough to feel confedence inspiring but it won't obliterate your arm trying to unplug something. The only complaint I have is the outlet spacing. They're spaced perfectly for standard power connections, but if you have a wallwart connected all bets are off. The ability to perhaps rotate the sockets 90 degrees would be a very welcome benefit but would definately add extra cost and complexity. Overall a very excellent product, and should I ever need another I will be a repeat customer!
