Fabulous
Got this book as a jokey gift from a friend, but is very good! The book teaches 'proper' behaviour for young ladies and gives examples of classy clothing styles and outlines how to host a party, and etiquette. Has comedic element so not to lose interest. Well written and clearly descripted. A guidebook for young women everywhere, dip in and out as needed to check that you are still a classy bird!

quite funny - and very entertaining
I was reading my teen vogue late one night and came across an article featuring derek blasberg and his new book 'classy'. and so on impulse i bought it, not knowing what on earth to expect. And i was pleasantly suprised! Recently there has been an OVERLOAD of "how to be lovely" type books, and "how do be like audrey hepburn" and "a - z of fashion: love yourself and your clothes" etc etc... i'd say this was one of those books, but with a twist! It's funny, and the layout of the book is really good, with quotes all overthe place about being a "lady". Mocking the modern age "skanks" (or as he puts them "tramps") of our celebrity party life style culture, whilst giving valuable tips on any thing and everything, if your like me and are seriously bored of all these goddess guides out there, this is the book for you.I'd recomend if you want a book that you can just dip in from time to time, with tips and advice on all sorts of stuff, from dress codes at parties, to what shape eyebrows suits you. And it's funny.

BUY BUY BUY! the little black dress of books!
I love this book, it is like Sex and the city in a clever book. So wise, realistic, helpful and a must for for all ladies! It covers everything from advice on how to be the perfect host and guest, how to deal with fake people, how to pose etc.It is so easy to read, well laid out and funny too, it is not sexist, aimed at people with wealth nor unrealistic, I just love the uplifting quotes scattered through the books by famous people like Coco Chanel, Mae West, Oscar Wilde etc.My fav being = I do not follow fashion, I just have style!!!! what a line. This book will leave you with a confidence boost, drive, ambition and more class.

Amazing book!
This is such a great little fashion book. It's full of information, and Blasbergs' witty style is fun and a pleasure to read. It's very tongue in cheek. My version is a lovely turquoise colour, (not white as advertised), which looks lovely on my coffee table

Type is hard to read
While the content of the book is enjoyable, I don't understand why the typeface used is so small. It's hard to read even with reading glasses. Very annoying.

More tacky then classy,
I prefer not to judge a book by its cover, but in this case it appears I should. For anyone who has reservations about this aesthetic choice, with the two blunt stereotypes on the cover, I would say you have no need of this book. This book reads like a bound teen fashion magazine. It lacks any kind of subtlety and it caters purely to a young novice american readership. Awkward to read at points, his crass judgement and categorisation of women was at points derogatory. The main message was, "know how to dress correctly and don't be a drunken slob". Obviously written for teenagers, it will prove useful to young girls who are veering away from sophistication and act as a simple and and entertaining guide. For a wiser reader, it will read as irritatingly obvious.
