I do like the thought of these. Works OK. But little hard to tell if all the solider has melted. By the time u think ok the rest of shrink is thin and weak. I will finish the box and update u later

These were a fraction of what it would have cost at Walmart for solder seals. I ended up with more than I needed for my single job (rewired a used trailer I purchased), but I will certainly continue to use these things for future wiring projects. I do run a better quality Dewalt heat gun with the deflector attachment for these. I read other people’s reviews about them needing longer dwell time under direct heat and whatnot, but my heat gun on its #2 setting was able to melt the solder rather quickly and without burning the cover. The key is to just move your gun around frequently while heating up the solder ring, then stop once you can see it has fused to the copper strands.

Connecting two wires in a seemless and tidy fashion can be a trick, but these new items make it super easy. Will be using these on a boat and in a caravan at first, and if they work okay - which I think they will - I will be using them everywhere!

Had a need to connect a numbe ofr individual auto cable inline connections. Stripped wire ends, gave a touch of a flux pen to each and of the wires, twisted ends and push end into either end of suitable connector. Then used a battery powered heat gun shrink the tube and melt the wire connection. Had to do this for eight connections and all worked. (Note: due to the cables each being connected to existing fixtures it was not possible to twist the wires together before heat application. No probs.
