Difficult to suggest this is the cheapest way to get the job done, but I wanted decent quality. If you don’t mind paying the extra for a branded item, this is for you. It is firm, but enough give to grip the jack well. More like rubber than plastic.

This extra pad I bought is really great, worked out to be very good add on to the jack.

Already deformed after all pads and discs changed on my Hyundai i20n, which is not the heaviest of cars at 1.2t. *** Edit - This split on its fifth use, on the front pinch weld. As a result it’s cracked my side skirt when the car dropped an inch onto the jack lift plate. 10yr guarantee on something costing £12 that’s cost me £500 damage. ***

The compound its made of is quite hard, after about 10 uses it began to split in the middle. After further use it quickly split right through

How does it stay on the jack?

The pad is well described, if you own a vehicle made by VW, Audi, Skoda etc (VAG Group) the tapered slot may be a bit narrow as the slot is tapered, and the jacking points on these cars is 16mm wide. My fault for not checking, definitely not the pad manufacturers!
