As with all Beyerdynamic products I was impressed with the excellent packaging and knew these headphones wouldn't disappoint when I ...
I've owned many pairs of headphones over the years and being a vinyl deejay, my expectations are always high. I've used Beyerdynamic headphones in the past when deejaying and when at home listening to music and have consistently been impressed with their products. I saw these headphones on Amazon and couldn't believe the price and knowing what a quality manufacturer Beyerdynamic are, I didn't hesitate in ordering them. As with all Beyerdynamic products I was impressed with the excellent packaging and knew these headphones wouldn't disappoint when I took them out the box. I was immediately impressed with the design and excellent build quality of these headphones and I love the fact they are foldable and have a detachable remote control cable which is simple to use and allows you to pause, skip tracks, adjust the volume and enables you to take calls if being used with your mobile phone which is a real bonus. More importantly the actual sound quality of the headphones I found was fabulous and ticked all my boxes and met my high standards which was fantastic! Being Beyerdynamic who always think outside of the box, the additional custom sound slider control on both of the ear cups is a brilliant feature and truly enhances the bass to create a more deeper and heavier sound, also the two connection ports affords you the option to connect the detachable cable in either the left or right ear cup. In terms of comfort, I find these headphones incredibly comfortable to wear and they don't feel heavy on the ears and the fact that you can customise the design of the headphones with the supplied templates is a lovely little fun touch. I also own a pair of Beats headphones, however I prefer these Beyerdynamic ones every time and use them when deejaying and recording live vinyl mixes in my studio as the sound quality is top class also you can rotate and swivel the ear cups which is a further plus point!

Does what it aims to
I got this on sale for £45 and that is crazy good value this product feel and sounds pretty good for its non sale price.Sound is fairly clear with nice highs and fairly good and not as grating as some other headphones I've tried and there are quality mids the bass settings adjust the bass in a noticeable way but i tend to keep it on vibrant bass since it is tight and punchy without compromising the quality of the mids and treble but full bass is still fun and works well with more electronic tracks and has a nice punch though it wont go as high as something like the skullcandy crushers it is higher quality the other option analytical is good for listening to piano and the like keeping bass somewhat distant compared to the other settings but having the rest of the sound feel prominent. Despite the good sound and build quality it can get a tad uncomfortable at times and the custom plate feature feels a little tacked on.Edit. one of the bass switches is now slightly stiffer than the other

Okay, not comfortable and sound is not as good
Sound quality was not as expected. Uncomfortable to wear - ears start to ache after 40+ minutes of wear.

Pleased and would buy them again
I am not an audio expert and this is the first pair of headphones I bought that cost more than a few dollars. That said, I am quite pleased with my purchase. I can hear parts of music that I never heard before even in songs that I have listened to thousands of times. That makes it worth the price I paid. Other reviews talk about comfort and it is true that they hurt my ears after a while but I find that I just need to move them a little so they are not pressing on the same part of my ear and I am fine for another hour or so. I am very impressed with the nice case that comes with the headphones. They are a nice size and not too big to carry around. I would buy them again if they broke, but they seem to be built quite well so I am thinking I will get a few years out of them. I never used any of the custom disc covers but I guess it is a nice touch for anyone who wants to make them a little different. I usually listen in bass position 2 but sometimes for a change open the bass to position 3. Not a huge difference but it is noticeable.
