Great knife
Arrived razor sharp with great fit and finish. The build quality and aesthetic is very similar to the AD-10 in person, but with a steeper finger guard and more pointed blade profile (clip point rather than drop point). The atlas lock opens a great deal easier one-handed than the triad lock of the AD-10, and I prefer the atlas lock here. Although one would be tempted to compare to the Swift 3 (another recent Cold Steel atlas lock knife), they are very different. The Swift 3 is assisted opening, with a slimmer overall profile and longer blade. The Engage is not assisted opening, and has a 3.5" blade rather than 4", but feels noticeably sturdier and has a more solid, palm-filling grip. Both are very nice knives but also surprisingly very different.

Great knife
Solid heavy duty cold steel construction. Smooth action and great grip.

Very good, with some quality control issues.
Docked a star for a chunk missing from the bar-lock in the back, and the asymmetrical grind (18 degrees on one side and 20 degrees on the other (I have an angle finder, so i could verify this), and the 320-grit grind. I was able to correct the profile and get it even (at 20 degrees, for practicality) and grind, hone, and strop to a shine. The action is smooth, so opening and closing are super smooth. The G-10 handle surface roughness is great, and not typically skin-grinding rough, and has a balanced surface roughness to give a comfortable grip.

Great EDC. Especially if you have big hands.
Love this knife. It’s a perfect EDC if you like a knife with a little heft that doesn’t completely fill your pocket. It’s doesn’t feel like a toy in your hand but also doesn't make you look like a maniac when you pull it out in public. Great balance and no hotspots when you grip it tightly. The atlas lock takes a little getting used to but doesn’t require building a callous like some locking mechanisms do. I plan to get the tanto version as well.

An Extremely Capable EDC Knife and highly recommended...
Incredible nice blade... Bought the AD-10 based on reviews on the net... Nice knife, but nothing like my Gerber Applegate covert that I've been carrying since 1996... The AD-10 is fine if you are in need of a blade to combat giant zombies... The Engage is almost the same length and has the ease of opening and closing that the AD-10 just doesn't have... I really like the AD-10; But for every day carrying and deployment and stow capabilities, the Engage is the winner... I've been carrying a Gerber Applegate covert since they came out in 1996... The Gerber Applegate Covert is a great knife and has a very ominous look when it's deployed, but it's not the best choice to split a sandwich or cut up a steak... I've done both with my Gerber Applegate, but it always feels like I pulled out a sord to slice some cheese... The Cold Steel Engage is perfect for either slicing a sandwich or dealing with something that requires a little more effective edge and point action... Great price from Amazon and definitely a nice addition to my knife collection... Easier to slip into your pocket and LOL (IMFHO) a much smoother deployment and especially when closing the blade... Try both one handed and tell me the AD-10 is an easier knife to manipulate under stress... Been there, done that... 82nd ABN Veteran...

Impressive knife
Did someone order the M1A1 of knives? No, the M1A1 of knives is the scout 4...LOL This is a full size knife that fits my XL hands perfectly. The "engage" action is cool and works flawlessly! Made of great materials this knife is impressive! Tight lock up, sharp, smooth action, great scales, nice beefy thumb studs! Cold steel never dissapoints!

Smooooth action
The 3.5" blade is a good size and came plenty sharp. I own several Cold Steel knives and this one has the smoothest action. I couldn't believe there weren't bearings in the pivot. The Atlas lock is very unique and reliable. Figit factor is at a 10. My new favorite carry knife.

Sure wished I knew when to buy and when there is going to be sale.
The knife is a typical Cold Steel knife, its Great. However it is a lot like my stocks that I have bought. I paid $147.00 for it here at Amazon at the end of July so two months ago and you can buy it today for $97.00. Kind of makes me sick, just like my stocks. Sure wish I had a heads up. I have purchased 12 Cold Steel knives on Amazon since the end of July and practically all of them are on sale today. Bummer.

Gran navaja!
La navaja es de gran calidad y por su precio he comprado más piezas. Navaja fuerte, segura, acero de alta gama, no me ha decepcionado desde su primer uso hasta ahora, si no te preocupa su peso, es una navaja para el día a día en campo y ciudad.
