Bought for open campfire cooking
I bought this to put over the campfire for foil pouch meals. worked perfectly. lightweight and it folds thin to pack away nicely. will be testing a cast iron pan on it next and I'll update after that.

The best camp grill ever made
I was looking for a new campfire grill for my latest camping trip to replace my last one. My last one was a typical grate grill with folding legs that just laid over the campfire. It did the job at the time, but can be difficult to use because it is low to the ground.I knew I wanted to get a tripod grill this time as they are taller and height adjustable. I could never find one built solid until I saw this one from Coughlan's so I decided to purchase it based on the reviews. The poles are bungee threaded so less pole parts to keep track of and it is very simple and quick to put together. After using it, I was not disappointed! This is THE grill to get for camping! We were able to lower the height when grilling and just raised it up higher when adding logs to the fire. We never had to move the tripod itself. It was a bonus that we could detach the chain from the grill to a lantern if need be. Will definitely recommend again.

Works great for what it is, just Check the size as this is small and good for backpacking
I did end up returning this item as i was looking for a bigger grill, so do check the size before purchasing. If you are going backpacking this would actually work very well to travel with; I myself will continue to use a small propane when backpacking as the food i cook is not that big and we rarely start fires when ultralight backpacking. Good item and sturdy but i dont think it would hold a heavy castIron pan.

Perfect for camping
Bought this specifically for a camping trip with the kids. Worked exactly how I wanted it to, although I should have gotten another one. Held up well to direct heat, and was fairly easy to clean. Folds flat for easy storage and held 4 burgers, 2 hot dogs (just to give you an idea of space). I will be buying a 2nd one for our next trip

Works perfectly!
Worked perfectly on our camping trip this weekend. Folds flat and is easy to use and stow. It's also easy to clean and very sturdy compared to balancing pots and pans on a burning log or something. Highly recommend this for the price.
