Wonderful book
Does a GREAT job outlining and organizing lots of fairly basic but essential information for programmers and anyone building or joining an early-stage startup.

The book I would have loved to have read before I entered the tech industry
If you're thinking of entering the tech industry, you need to read this (along with a book like "Cracking the Coding Interview" or "Programming Interviews Exposed"), as it'll change your perspective on where you want to work and how to think about your career. If you're in the industry and not already at a top-tier tech company (FB, Google) you should also read it: it could help you land the next job or (possibly even better) help you improve the company you're already at.

Essential
This is the book I was looking for as someone looking to pick up real information on how to succeed in general not just with regards to startups. It's an essential guide full of great information that's immediately useful to anyone that reads it. In contrast to other books that are more conceptual/overhyped, this book has actual concrete steps on how to do everything better.

A must-have book for a startup
Covers a lot of topics: marketing, coding, scaling, acquisition, design, etc. One of the best books for those who wants to build a startup or just to get deep into business.

Don't believe in the hype
This book is only ok at best. I saw all the five star reviews and thought it might be extremely insightful. But as someone who is very active in the startup seen and has founded several startups I found the content of this book to be extremely derivative of other popular startup books like all the 'Lean' books out there. There just isn't really anything new here. I guess the biggest improvement is that it is written more from an engineering perspective which is nice but not necessary.

Amazing book...
I just finished reading this book and I must say that if you're thinking on joining or starting a #startup, if you just want to know what #startups are all about or just get general advice on how to plan and develop your professional software developer career then this is a must read. What an amazing book! I'm definitely starting my own blog now. Thanks Yevgeniy!!!

An essential introduction to startups
This book simply stands head and shoulders above all of the other books on startups I've read. It's highly accessible as well as highly informative, and all the way through it manages to maintain an excellent balance between the many topics it tackles, and this is pretty remarkable considering that it basically covers all foundational aspects of starting a company.I know it says programmer's guide on the cover but everything in this book, from the sections on design to the ones on startup culture, has benefited me and the non-technical friends I've passed the book onto, in areas both inside and outside startups. As well as this, reading the more technical sections, which are mostly strategic and not just code gore, has actually significantly increased my understanding of the tech side of my own company which my CTO has been very grateful for!I highly recommend this book to absolutely anyone who's looking for a thorough introduction into what makes startups tick.

Great all rounder book for people with technical background
I’ve been working roughly for 2 years in startups after a few years in corporates and consulting, and I’ve enjoyed this book from first to last chapters. Learning about products, ideas, and how to train creativity is invaluable and something that you cam and should apply in your everyday life. Startups are a different world and lots of what you learned before doesn’t apply. Even if you are already aware of modern software development practices this book also offers a nice recap. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended for anyone managing a tech company
I'm a start-up CEO that has been working in start-ups for the last 5 years. I wish that I had read this book years ago."hello, startup" covers a lot of ground, but gets away with it because it touches the essential bits of each argument and then moves on.I am not a programmer, and I appreciate seeing the business and management themes covered from a programmer's perspective. The technical chapters are giving me a good education and increasing my tech knowledge.
