Great assortment for the price!
I really am impressed with the amount of components that come with this kit for the price point. I use a lot of these for my Arduino breadboarding projects. Here are my likes and dislikes about this kit:As stated before, I really like the assortment of components that I use most often. If you ara a beginner, there are no schematics or data sheets included, but if you know what you are looking at, you will be able to easily find spec information online. There are plenty of led's, resistors, diodes, a 74HC595 shift register IC, a 4N35 optocoupler, pots, momentary switches, etc. I also appreciated the different lengths of precut, bent and tinned solid wires which makes it easy for bridgeing through hole point-to-point solder connections. My main gripe is that the resistor values are dificult to read due to the green coating on the body. It would have been nices to have a light tan color instead. I just check them with my ohmmeter to confirm the values when I use them. Another gripe, which is not really a big deal, is that they do include male header pins, but no female. It would be nice to have those included, even if it cost a few dollars more.Overall, I think this is a bargain for the price, and a handy kit for your prototyping and breadboarding needs.

Lots of stuff to use to learn with a pi. Maybe too much.
I have a few pi and want to know about how to make things to control with a pi.The simple things are good but I don't quite understand all that the ebook talks about so it kind of came to a stop for now. Kindof don't understand and getting lost. The resisters are more of a challenge because it's hard for me to see the stripes on them since I am not young anymore.Breadboard I think it's called makes it so I can reuse the items when I am done with 1 project. Programming is another story. Nada about that. Whoever can program with that is a genius I say.Well this keeps interest in the young and hope they will make money later after using this as a learning kit. Price is great for what I think.

Solid little kit
I’ve used components from this kit in a bunch of projects and breadboards without any issues. It’s good as a starter kit or just useful for extra parts. I’ve been surprised how many times I’ve needed an odd part to populate a board and this kit happened to have it. Comes in a nice little case that’s handy as well.

Confusing title, but still a nice little set
The most important thing to note here is that this is not exactly an Arduino starter set, or at least it doesn't come with an Arduino, and it's not really geared towards any one specific dev board. The voltage regulator/adapter thing is really quite neat. I like that it provides both 5v and 3.3v, which basically covers any sort of dev board you'd ever use. It's nice to just have those voltages on hand for testing circuits before connecting them to your Arduino or whatever too.The general assortment of components is what I'd consider "useful", and would really only benefit from potentially including extra potentiometers. I know the Uno, which this kit is marketed towards, doesn't support many analog inputs, but frequently it's nice to have potentiometers for testing different resistances on circuits if you're not sure what size resistor you need (either because you don't feel like doing the math, or you're missing information that's needed to do said math).Lastly, I'm glad this included a resistor value card. Having tinkered with stuff like this for many years, I've amazingly never managed to get my hands on a resistor value card. I've always looked like a fool having to go to google images to find a reference chart every time I needed to figure out the value of a resistor (and my multimeter wasn't nearby). Now I can actually have a quick reference at my bench. At about $17, grab this, and an Arduino Uno or Mega, and it'll make a great Christmas or birthday present for somebody who's just getting into electronic circuitry and programming. I personally got my first kit as a Freshman in high school, and nearly ten years later I'm still using some stuff from that kit. I'd say 8th grade and up is a good age range for a gift like that. Any younger and it'll be a little much for them to take in, once they're in college odds are it's a little primitive (unless they're just getting started as a hobby).

A "complementary" kit with lots of components in good quantities
This kit is marketed by the seller as a "starter" or "beginner" kit, but it is not. A starter kit should include at least a computer board (like a Pi) or a controller and a power connector (like a battery connector) and maybe some basic project ideas and description of the pieces to get into work. This kit does not come with any of that so you cannot start anything with this alone. If you are interested in a starter kit, there are some on Amazon, but they cost a little more that this item as expected. What this kit is good for though is that it comes with so many components in good quantities. So, I would call it a "complementary" kit.We have bought this for my son's STEM project. He already has Rapberry Pi boards and controllers and some electronic components from other kits but needed other parts like lots of buttons. This kit comes with ten buttons. So, we thought instead of buying just buttons, we would buy a kit that comes with buttons but also other components as well which would be needed in this project and future ones.It is generally acceptable quality but my son's experience though with breadboard so far is that it has bad connections. However, the breadboard is an OEM part that comes with other kits as well, it is not specific to this kit.Like most products from China, this has English spelling issues on the package too, but I have never seen this before: "Aoqdqdqd." I don't know what this means but I am guessing the person who created the package sheet accidentally random pressed on the keyboard and did not bother deleting it :)I am taking couple stars off because it is not what it says it is and the quality issues.
