They do the job. I prefer the tissue paper seperators between each slide.
I once bought a box of slides (not these!) and they all looked dirty, so I do appreciate a relatively inexpensive, quality product. These come with paper separators between each slide making it easy to grab a single slide. Maybe some people would prefer not to have that feature (and waste to clean up), but it makes things move quicker for me.

Could be cleaner
Amazon shipped these in an envelope style package because well... It's amazon. None of them were broken, but the box isn't in the greatest shape anymore. Being that this is the first time buying slides for the new microscope I also got on Amazon, I don't know nearly as much as the professionals, but I'll share what I can. The long pieces of glass are nice and clear, and fairly thick. The cover square pieces however are very thin, which I'm guessing is how they're supposed to be but at the same time they do seem pretty brittle. They're also very foggy. I attempted to clean them with plain water as well as alcohol wipes, but they remain foggy. They also seem a little scratchy since when I'm focusing the scope, I can tell when I'm looking at the cover slip.

Ok. I bought these because I didn’t wanna buy my bookstores slides(they are thick but a bit pricey for a small box without cover slips). These are indeed a bit thin then what I am used to but work fine. Yes.the cover slips and slides are a bit dirty which I find strange. Like did they reuse them or?? But a wash with distilled water and a kimtech wipe does the job if not then I add little liquidnox . I would give it 5 but went with 4 since the slides are packaged nice and affordable but the slides ended up being a bit dirty, which I shouldn’t complain about. I be washing my slides either way.

Good for craft and bulk use
I buy these for craft purposes in relatively large quantity. Out of 14 boxes, I had 0 broken slides, about 10 chiped slides. Of the cover slips, one broken box/holder, but no broken cover slips themselves. The slides are very clean, as far as I can see by eye. Just a little dust sometimes. As a side note, they can easily be cut with a quality carbide wheel. Best price I've found.

Best bang for your buck.
I'm impressed by the price and speed I recieved this. I used these slides to detect parasites and planaria in local tap water. The first slide I used had a little dust but otherwise most slides were 95% -99% clean. For detecting parasites and impurities in water I did not find a need to clean the slides. As explained in other reviews the slide covers so stick together quite a but if you have a sanatized desk and gloves it wont be a probelm pulling them apart. Easily clean and reuse slides using ehtanol alcohol 70%.

Review of AmScope BS-72P-100S-22x5 - Slide and Cover Slide Quality
The slides are near perfect. Clean. Separated by nicely cut tissue paper. For the most part there is no prep or pre-cleaning of the slide needed prior to use. The slide edges are nicely ground, so there are no sharp glass edges - ever. The cover slides are a different matter. The cover slides are packaged in a stack, contained in a fairly durable two piece cubical plastic container. You can open and close the container repeatedly; it's durable. Inside of the container the 'stack' of cover slides are wrapped in tissue paper. The shipping paper does seem to protect the cover slides from any chipping or breakage during shipping and handling. Now for the less-good news (and reason for only 3 stars instead of 5 stars): The way they must be manufacturing the cover slides, after they cut and stack them, individual cover slides tend to STICK-TOGETHER. Trying to pry them apart is difficult. Liquid between them? Tapping on a solid surface at an angle? Applying shear force to break them apart? All can be difficult. If you do not inspect each cover slide carefully, you may wind up using two or three mounted onto a slide, making for a VERY THICK cover set to look through. Use with 100x oil immersion will be a disaster then (or simply fail). If / when you do succeed at separating each cover slide (and hopefully verifying it is only one slide), then there is the dirt./ cleanliness issue. Pretty much 100% of the slides are dirty - visibly so. For purposes here 100% of the cover slides must be cleaned. Alcohol cleaning works partially. At some point in the manufacturing process there must be some type of film that is deposited on the cover slide surface. It must be only partially soluble in 70 Isopropyl alcohol. Regular Windex seems to be substantially more effective applied and then the surfaces (both sides) rubbed with liquid Windex soaking each slide. Then manually wipe/drying each one. Yes - time consuming. But if you want/need a truly clean cover slide for good imaging result - clean these slide covers. Tolerances on the cover slides are 'ok', usually falling just within the range printed on the box. We've run into a few that were way too thick, out-of-spec, making 100x oil immersion impossible. From the last 2000 cover slides purchased (and slides too), we've had very low breakage - less than 0.5%. We will continue to purchase these slides, albeit the cover slide cleaning is a time consuming pain, beyond that they are good. The manufacturer would have a great product if they could correct the cover slide (slime, dirt, emulsion, oil, whatever) contamination on the cover slides. Good process engineering, industrial engineering and quality control efforts would probably accomplish that quite easily. I hope this helps other users and buyers.
