problems on windows 11
windows 11 installed the drivers just finewintv installed,updated the drivers,and installed just fine,wintv couldnt find any channel on 28.2e uk freesatfyi was hoping plex would work with it (seen a guy online who apparently managed to use this fine with plex on a laptop...but no luck it dint work we plex either

Brilliant piece of kit.
Does everything it is meant to. Set it up in no time. Works under Linux but you have to download firmware module. Could not use the remote on Linux, so I could not rate it, but it works by keyboard and mouse. Not tested on Apple mac or MS Windows but I imagine it will work with those closed systems.

Works with Plex
Needed a UK Freesat compatible device to work with my Plex server as I do not have an arial on my house, only a dish. There was some conflicting information online but decided to take a chance with this one. I can confirm it works perfectly fine with Plex, just install the driver from Hauppauge's website, reboot and you're good to go. Plex will find the device and you can then search for channels and setup your guide data and DVR settings absolutely no problem. I am running Plex Server on Windows, I do not know if this works for any other platform/OS.

Amazon & Hauppauge websites are wrongly claiming features that DO NOT WORK!
Both Amazon and the Hauppauge websites claim that this version works with Linux. It does not (correct at 16 Oct 2018). I cannot post a link to the LibreELEC forum where this information is confirmed as Amazon rules will not allow me to.Both Amazon & Hauppauge websites claim that this device can receive DVB-S2 channels. The supplied Windows software that you have to download only found DVB-S channels for me on two occasions of trying. It said it was scanning for DVB-S channels and it found loads of them but it didn't even say that it was trying to scan for DVB-S2 channels.I have emailed the Hauppauge UK support email address twice - over a week ago and a couple of days ago so they have had time to respond - but I have not received a response. Not even an automated one.I have returned mine.

Doesn't seem to have enough power to supply LNB thus have lots of screen breakup until another satellite box is providing power. Software awful. EPG doesn't seem to work. Can't turn off audio description and email to software supplier not responded to. Avoid this device

Good hardware, awful software
The tuner works well, it does need the extra power supply for channels to work without breaking up. The included software is awful though. I use DVB Viewer or Hauppauge's own WinTV 8, which are far better.

Fantastic piece of kit!
I served my apprenticeship years, in Germany, as a Satellite Installation Engineer.This DVB-S2 USB Stick is truly simple to install and configure. I was up and running (on an existing dish installation) within 15 minutes. I could receive all UK TV and Radio Freesat stations and was able to manipulate the Channel Guide to my liking using the supplied and intuitive Hauppage WinTV10 software. Overall, 5 out of 5!
