Smart Pager
Love the product! The fact I could recieve a notification on my mobile phone is so convenient. With my mom having Parkinson's, this is a great way for her to get immediate assistance.

Ridiculous to set up.
Absolutely ridiculous trying to set this up. I have paid for the subscription twice now and it still won't give me the option to connect to my phone. Tried their chatbot. The youtube videos I watch show different options than what I'm seeing on Smart Life app. No response from contacting.

For the safety of a loved one it's a bargain
I think some of the dissatisfied customers who left reviews had different expectations for this product. This is a wearable alert button which can be connected to wifi to send you ***IN APP*** notifications to your mobile device. This does not text or call your phone without the additional subscription. We are using it without the subscription and it works as advertised. For some background, we got this because recently my mom slipped out of bed and could not get up from the floor. She was in another room and no one knew until the morning. She was otherwise ok, but she just doesn't have the mobility to get up from the floor. So for my own peace of mind and to stop middle of the night bed checks, I wanted a wearable alert button for her. This is the only one I found that has the look of a smart watch and not a medical alert bracelet so she will not be self conscious about wearing it.I bought one for each of the folks and we have tested it and it works as we expected. I connected two buttons and two receivers to the app and changed the names so I will know which of the buttons is signaling for me. The volume is adjustable (off, low, medium, high), alarm sounds can be changed, and alarm duration can be changed as well. I set the alarm time for 10 minutes so it will definitely wake me if needed but also so that when I am out of the house and get the notification, the turing off of the alarm will let the folks know I received their alert.Setup was easy enough and the instructions provided were very clear. The following was all the setup required:1) I first got the app and set up an account. There are two apps that you can choose from and there is a QR code for each in the instructions. You only need one the apps not both. Clicking the link took me to the app store to get the free "smart life" app.2) Then I had to connect my phone to the 2.4gHz band. My wiFi has dual band (both 2.4gHz and 5gHz) and my phone connects by default to 5gHz. My router has an app which allows me to control the connections (the app is where you would go to reset the password for your wifi) and I chose the setting to temporarily connect my phone to 2.4gHz instead of 5gHz.3) Once on the correct band, I plugged in the receivers. Distance from receiver to wifi needs to be less than 66 ft and distance of button to receiver needs to be within 230ft. Having mesh wifi and two receivers I set them up in different areas of the house. In the app I selected "Add device" and hit the pairing button on the back of the receiver. The instructions have screen shot illustrations and diagrams of what needs to be done and what button to push. The instructions were very helpful. Including pics in this review.4) After the receiver is paired to the 2.4 gHz wifi band then you connect the SOS button (the watch that has the button they will wear) to each receiver. In the app later you can name each button and each receiver. I renamed them since there will be two people with buttons and I wanted to know which one was sending a signal for help. If you were setting up a stationary button you could label each button with room names.5) Finally, I updated my phone notification settings to allow the app to send me notifications. We already had a test run of this as my dad did bump the button getting his coffee He was unhappy that the alarm has to be turned off in the app only. I am ok with this setup because I think false alarms are acceptable and expected. Having a loved one in need of help but unable to get it is not acceptable for me.So all in all excellent product. No subscription necessary and it was a great value.I will update if anything changes but at this time we are all very satisfied.

Not a bad product
Seems to work pretty good. The button is in a different house from me and the alarm will sound when the button is pushed. I get a notification on my phone also. Was a bit to set up, directions didn't help much. I youtubed setup and we are good to go.

For my Parents
My Mom is in early stage of dementia. This works perfectly for peace-of-mind. The set up was easy. However, I tried to add my sister's phone to the account, and the app would not allow me to set a password, even within the parameter. So, she is the only one who will receive an alert, but her work schedule allows for that flexibility. This came in handy a couple of times while my Dad was hospitalized for a month. Mom was able to alert my sister without having to scramble with a phone. Now, my Dad has an alert button as well if he can't get to a phone. This system is perfect if your looking to save cost and don't really need a system monitored by call center.

Too many false alarms
The units are relatively easy installation paired and linked. Once the activated alert button triggers the pager it works fine. Good controls in the apps and shareable with other family members. There is one snag something triggers false alarms. Luckily after a month of use, false alarms sounded only in the daytime. We could not figure out the cause. Another issue is that the pulse alert button looks water-tight but is not. A shower took it out of service. Despite the false alarms we are satisfied with the purchase as a stand-alone patient care pager, price point, while giving us peace of mind.

Great call button for use in a wi-fi house.
Works beautifully as a call button for my elderly dad who has mobility limitations. One button stays right on his walker, which he has with him all the time. Highly recommended.

"Watch band" just doesn't stay on
Works well as a pager -- but for those who need to wear the "watch band", it doesn't stay fastened. The loop that is supposed to help hold the wrist band in place slides all over the place and soon the band unfastens and falls off. The electronics are exactly what we need -- but if the "watch" band doesn't stay on, it's a no deal. Will return.
