Wow!!! Such a high-quality item. I use it as a guitar seat. Height and back are totally adjustable. Some well-meaning people in a few reviews said it wasn't stable and will tip over. Not so!! In the words of" Bad Company" it's Rock Steady!!!From the pictures in their reviews they put the legs on backwards. The longer part of the legs are to be facing the back. This is my third purchase from Liquid Stands. Plus, it's a product that is made in America!!

As I get older, I can’t consistently remember to sit up straight when using a piano bench, and I always aggravate my neck and back which shortens my practice sessions. This wonderful chair solved my problem. Now I sit up straight and I can play longer. Adjustable in all ways. Easy to put together. Sturdy. Excellent value. Don’t hesitate, get it!

The instructions were packaged with the chair seat. They were easy to follow, except that the pictures of black on black on black bits and pieces are really hard to see at that size. Fortunately we're pretty good at such jigsaw puzzles so it went together easily. (We were grateful for the comments recommending putting the cross brace in before attaching the legs to the seat.) I would recommend using a drill with allen wrench bits if you can gets your hands on one. It sped up the assembly process quite a bit.This seat is well thought out, the hardware is nice and strong, and it's perfectly stable after you get it put together. Please note: some of the pictures of this chair have shorter bottom pieces that don't extend far enough past the back of the seat to provide stability. Some of the pictures show the bottom pieces longer in the back. We checked the parts carefully to be sure it was longer in the back, so take a look at your chair before assembling it to be sure you get the longer bottom pieces. I don't know if this is a change in the product or what, but the longer bottom parts make it pretty solid. Sure, I could tip it over if I tried really hard, so I'm not gonna do that. ;)The back hits perfectly for me, right in the lumbar area. The only things I would recommend to the manufacturer (who seem super cool and nice) is that 1) you either lighten up your pictures in the instructions or go to line drawings; and 2) the seat needs to be a couple of inches wider and deeper. I know that would mess with your packaging and shipping, but I'd be willing to shell out a few more bucks for a bigger seat.Overall, a great buy.

As an older senior, the addition of this chair was actually what I needed to continue with my piano playing. I was finding my back was acting up more frequently when I played for any length of time. The support the adjustable back provides was the perfect solution.
