The Great Alone

A wonderful read! Loved every little thing about the book, starting with the plot, the writing style, the climax; all of it was just spot on. Character development was great too. All the emotions and experiences were described extremely well. A five star read for sure ❤️

This is one of my favourite reads of all time. Set in the beautiful town of Alaska.

Beautifully written.. good story where deep bond between teens, mom n daughter, grandparents.. Excellent characters- Matthew , large Marge, Mr Walker.. Beautiful community of close friends in remote wilderness of Alaska .. during sunny times and deep winters - of region and of life of Leni

Superb book ..! Must read

Cocktail of teenage romance, domestic violence, a killing and cover-up, melodrama, reunion....the list can go on. The book packs too many elements in an attempt to take you on an emotional roller-coaster and it becomes tiresome at some point. Credit must be given where it is due - the writing is not sloppy and the sense of tension is well created. But the exotic title and the promise of Alaska theme is nothing but a let-down. Skip this book...ordinary stuff.

Beautifully narrated. When the head of the family is not in good mindset, how a family suffers is very nicely narrated.

Simple story of love, sacrifice and innocent. One who truly loves nature has to read this book. We see love of all sorts in this book. I am a man and not ashamed to admit I cried at times reading this book. The book has deep roots in my heart. Thanks Kristin Hannah 😊

If you are looking for your next great read, this is the book. It is a hauntingly beautiful reminder of the strength we find when we are pushed to our limits. I rarely write reviews but in this case ... This is, by far, one of the best books I've read in a long time. As always, Kristin Hannah spins a wonderful tale .... plot, character development, everything is outstanding, but what grabbed me by the throat emotionally was her obvious visceral love for the State of Alaska. It shone through on every page. I'm not a crier but this story had me in tears I'm happy to give it 5 stars - wish I could have rated it higher.

Received item quickly. Highly recommend this book. A great depiction of life in the wild of Alaska.
