It moves about 3/4" and retracts when activated. 12 volt power will actuate it easily without issue. The Electromagnetic retracted and spring loaded return solenoid can cycle several times a minute. Doesn't build up much heat. The body doesn't have a lot of mounting options but it can be held down with a bracket. Review: Seems to work - I have not actually installed this on anything yet. But it bench tested very strong.
