Great Stuff! Tastes Decent
This was my first time using modeling chocolate and I used it to turn my girlfriend’s cake into an all edible Trouble game board….would have been helpful to have better modeling tools but it came out pretty good. I hand mixed the white with Americolor gel food coloring and it took well - I had to use a lot to get it as vibrant as I wanted but it didn’t seem to affect the taste or texture. I used the black modeling chocolate to make the base of the Trouble popper and that does taste like tootsie roll more than dark chocolate but still also edible. I was able to use edible decorator pens to write the numbers on the dice and words on other parts of the game board. I did use powder sugar as suggested in other reviews to help prevent them from sticking to my sil pat and during storage (in an airtight container) and dusted the excess powdered sugar off with a pasty brush and paint brush for detailed areas before putting them on the cake. I left a bit of it on the bottom side and used a paint brush and water to help it be like a glue to hold the decorations to the classic boiled fudge icing my gf wanted :) Worked great! Texture is softer than tootsie roll and I found that if it was getting too warm in my hands to mold properly, I just set it down to rest while I worked on something else til it had firmed up again. Rolls well like a dough. Couldn’t quite “sculpt” it the way I would have liked but I probably didn’t have the right tools or experience - happy decorating!

First time user!!
I used this to make squishmallows for a cake.... Used rice krispies and then covered with this. I've never done it before... This modeling chocolate was great. If it gets overheated from your hand, just let it sit for a few minutes.

product had been melted and tasted like wax
The chocolate had been melted and was all over the inner wrapper. I have never used modeling chocolate but I thought I could knead it and color it but it was hard and just tastes like wax. It was like the chocolate separated when it melted.

Fun product to work with!
I have never used molding chocolate before so I didn't know what to expect. It was fairly hard when I opened the container. The instructions say to microwave for 5 seconds at a time until soft. I ended up with a total time of 30 seconds to get it malleable. Might have been a few seconds too long, as I had to mash it together a bit to get the oils back in place.Looked up a video on how to make a rose. I have no molding tools, so did it all with a rolling pin and my hands. Very much like working with play-doh. It was very easy to roll and form. The only issue I had was after I was finished and tried to mush the leftover chocolate back together, it stuck to my cutting board. Probably should have sprinkled it with some powdered sugar or not rolled the whole pound of chocolate out at once!It was fun to make the little rose and I think I've just upped my homemade cake presentations! Oh - and the chocolate is pretty tasty too!
