As always with k&n I've not had any issues from this filter, gives the engine a slightly nicer note and my mpg has gone up about 3mpg (don't think the last few owners bothered taking care of the car though)

The moment i installed this filter on my 2009 30d x5 which has high mileage 130k the engine was running so smooth felt like m sitting in my Lexus hybrid (no joke there was no vibration at all felt like my engine is off.).Acceleration has improved feels soft on the pedal . Well I did add a Techron diesel additives when I changed . So it could be both working at the same time .

Fitting this filter was an absolute PITA, but that’s not the products fault. Arrived well packaged and on time. First impressions are good; my ‘06 BMW E65 730d now feels a bit more responsive at low revs, with the reassurance I can go another 50k before having to clean it out.

The filter is probably a better option when you take into consideration how long it will last, against a standard option.Fitting this filter will not upset any of the engine settings.The major benefit is the higher volume of filtered air, being available to the engine.The sound levels are basically the same, but you could see an improvement in economy and performance.P.S. Changing the air filter on these models (standard or otherwise) is not a two minute job, and all engine top covers need to be removed and refitted carefully.

The filter works great once it's installed but it's not a simple job. Took me around and hour and a half. Watch a video on YouTube to see how it's done.

No massive changes but you get a little more throaty induction noise at idle. A nice sort of burbly poppy sound.The main reason to fit one is that you never really need to get back in there and change the filter. Seeing as it's such a horrible job, it's worth every penny! Just make sure your garage does not change it out at your next service!

Arrived on time and is what it says on the box. Makes a great noise when driving hard. Fitting this particular air filter is a laborious task requiring the removal of a lot of components from the engine bay. Not a fault of the filter but BMW. Nevertheless it's not a job to be undertaken lightly unless you are comfortable working under the bonnet.
