dissapointing
Instructions are very unclear. The video link listed with the instructions was not relevant to this but to the board game. When I found a relevant video it simply ran through the game with no explanation and left me with no idea of what to do with hero cards, event cards, or transformation cards.Pity as the idea is appealing. I will have to leave out the item cards when I try the easiest gme with a student tomorrow.

Great challenging family game
We bought this game to help my kids with their mental math and times tables. It is basically a deck of cards (about size of normal playing cards), 4 dice and a set of very basic instructions. The instructions are not great and we had to go online to understand the basics for level one. Level one does not require you to use all the cards or understand all the markings on the cards. We looked up what we needed to get started and began playing. There are markings on the cards that we still have not figured out - we assume we will understand them as we move up complexity. We are happy right now with the first level of the game and would say that we will probably need to play about 8-10 games at this level before we will investigate level two.The kids love the game as its all about zombies, heroes, etc. They picked up the game and want to play it everyday since we got it. It took my 8 year old a while to get into the concept and we had to explain over about 3 games. But he has grasped it now. Its challenging for the kids and adults as you can make your calculations as hard or easy as you can manage in your head. You can use multiplication, addition, subtraction, squares, etc. to kill a zombie. It really gets your mind working. Its portable and easy to bring on a journey to pass time. We would recommend this as a family game - probably aimed at age 8 and above. You will need to spend time online at the beginning to get into the game so plan this in.

He likes maths and I just wanted to find an extra fun activity to speed up the process of learning times ...
I bought this game for my son, who's in Yr 3 at the moment. He likes maths and I just wanted to find an extra fun activity to speed up the process of learning times tables. Seems that this game is exactly what I was looking for.

Big hit
I bought this for my 6 year old son who was sitting the 7+ exam for a London day school. It took a while to get my head around the instructions which are a little confusing to begin with but once I got the hang of them (with them help of some YouTube instruction videos which I definitely recommend), my son absolutely loved the game. Even now, a year later, he still actively wants to play the game which is pretty incredible when you think this is a maths game. His mental maths has improved hugely. When we started, he had to count the dots on the dice to do 4+5 where as he now knows that 5 cubed is 125....It is quite expensive but given how much use we have had out of it, it has proven money well spent, particularly since my 5 year old daughter is now starting to play. It is very early days for her of course but she is enjoying playing with her brother and the design of the game means she can play at her own level without holding others up.
