Excellent and Easy-to-Use Multi-Format Player!
I just got this DVD player, and I'm really impressed so far! Setup was incredibly simple – truly "plug and go." I appreciate that it's so versatile, capable of playing not only standard DVDs but also Blu-rays and even supporting 4K resolution. While I've only had the chance to watch regular DVDs on it so far, I can confirm it works beautifully. The picture quality is great, and everything runs smoothly. I'm looking forward to trying out its Blu-ray and 4K capabilities soon. If you're looking for a reliable and easy-to-use player that handles multiple formats, this one is definitely worth considering!

Slow Ultra HD player fix
Great ultra HD video player works well and picture is crystal clear I have not had any issues since buying it 3 months ago. It is worth noting when you first turn on this player it is slow to startup and respond to your input and to read the disc. This can be fixed if you go to setup select player settings scroll down to system and where it says quick startup you want to switch that from off to on. Once quick startup is turned on the player should startup and read the disc faster and be more responsive to your input.

Not a bad player, but...
The good and bad:The Good: good price, supports multiple HDR formats. Comes with batteries for remote, USB 2.0 port in front to play media files from USB drives. Does not require you to download some stupid poorly written data harvesting add-ridden app on your phone to operate. The Bad: Only plays Region A. No wifi so you are required to plug into Ethernet cable when ever they update the DRM on future BR/4K releases. No controls on player itself other than eject/power, so if you lose or break the remote, the unit becomes inoperable.Other: I miss the days when electronics like this looked advanced and high tech with their vacuum florescent displays and controls right on the unit itself. Just compare the looks of any original DVD player from the past to the ones they make now and you will understand what I am talking about. Now they look boring and bland. Just plain plastic with barely any or no controls or displays on the unit itself that you will be unable to use if you lose the remote.

Save your money ub820 hunters. Get this one.
Amazing player, I was going to return several 4k movies because the ps5 was skipping, freezing, ect.I wanted to blame the disc's at first but then decided to try out a warehouse deal, so glad I did, this machine plays everything I own with a perfect flawness experience.I highly recommend this player, I know everyone wants the ub820 including me but this taught me a valuable lesson indeed. So easy to set up right out of the box.Picture, sound are all superior to the ps5.Very nice compact size design will fit perfect into anyone's setup.Complete with remote and batteries.Upscaling all your old dvd s, upscales bluray up to 4k quality, plays any disc you can put in including cd s of any kind.

Stopped working after 3 months.
This is junk. Owned for a total of 3 months and has already stopped working. I am very gentle with my electronics and always make sure to clean discs before playing them. This player just stopped reading all discs, even ones that used to play fine on it. Just spits them all out and says "disc is incompatible".Even for the few months it did work, the issues mentioned by other negative reviews were all there - the build quality is cheap, and the player makes loud noises while trying to read discs. And if you tried to start playing a disc by just ejecting and closing the player with a disc in it wouldn't like that and wouldn't play it. You had to first turn the tv on, then the player, then insert the disc - it was so finicky and particular. Normally I could learn to live with these issues and work around them if the thing had kept working, but it decided to just stop doing it's only job today.Avoid this one and buy something that actually works.

Exactly what I needed
This 4K UHD Player is just exactly what I needed. I recently just started buying 4K Blu-ray’s and I needed something to play them at the best quality, with HDR support. The playback is responsive and quick either for standard Blu-ray’s or 4K of course. The controller is simple and comes with batteries. The set up itself is easy. I have no need for internet use with it, but if you do, you will need an Ethernet cable. It does not have any bothering lights. And the quality of picture is beautiful. Does not come with an HDMI cable, but most of these never do. Highly recommend for standard movie watching in 4K in your home theater.

Solid player
Solid player and plays standard def Blu Rays just fine. There was only one issue I had that isn't really the player's fault. I started running into a string of 4K HDR Blu Rays that wouldn't play the default English sound track. Very strange - all of the other sound tracks, ( other languages & commentary tracks ), would play fine but the English track just wouldn't play on certain titles - Wizard of Oz, John Carpenter's The Thing, Jurassic Park and a couple others.I was worried about having to replace them, but dug into the player's audio setup. I had changed the setting to play PCM by default instead of some other standard I had not heard of - problem solved.

Awesome picture.
I wanted a new player for my new 4k TV. Price was good at the time and the Blue Ray movies look fantastic. No display on the unit but the on screen menu is easy. It was worth the upgrade.
