My first backgammon board and it is very good quality for the price. Looks very smart.

Now that's more like it! I bought a really beautiful looking Syrian style set a few days ago which looked great but was missing a counter and came with only one set of dice, no dice cup or doubling dice and no book.This set has everything you need and also looks great. Not only that all the bits feel nice, the counters (stones) are made of real wood like the rest of the set. There are two sets of Dice, a doubling dice and two dice cups. The counters come packed in n ice linen bags and there are several sachets of Silica Gel just to show you that the makers are taking this set seriously.This set is supplied by Jaques of London a family firm with over 200 years of history and tradition as well as a track record of innovation. There are some fantastic bits of company history one the retail box and in the second enclosed leaflet. This firm takes justifiable pride in their products.Not the cheapest set I saw and far from the most expensive. I have no hesitation in recommending this set to anyone who enjoys this wonder old game. Just a slight note of caution about this old established business, After ordering from them you will get almost daily emails for weeks asking you to review the product and tell them about any problems. Its nice that they stand behind what they produce but do they really need to pester customers almost daily.

I bought this backgammon set as a gift for a family member. They were very pleased with it as it is stylish with a classic wood finish and quite fun to play on as you hear the clickety click of the dice as they roll on the wood.There was a minor issue with one of the counters missing from the set, however after one phone call and some excellent customer service that I received from Jaques of London, they sent me replacement pieces right away.Thanks. Very happy with this purchase.

Good quality backgammon board, complete with set of instructions, lovely craftmanship.

Beautifully wrapped but case damaged along edge. The stones were also of sub-standard materials, with splits in the wood. This was a present, so that condition was not acceptable and item returned.Alternative manufactured item purchased with substantially better quality, but slightly higher price.

Our gammon set arrived in no time. It was beautifully presented wrapped and boxed. Even a hand signed card inside which helped with the experience of buying from such a long established company. We love it. The only thing I can fault are the counters are a little light in weight but value for money over all.

Given as a gift this game was perfect, hand wrapped with a little note from Becky whose wrapping skills are perfect. The is ideal great to play with and good value for the price paid.
