What size bag would I need? Does the headstock just remove 6 inches from normal guitar?

Pretty much. The cut out for the tuners also brings the overall size down compared to a Strat-style full guitar. I custom made a gig back that’s 13 1/2” wide and 35 1/2” long tapered down to 7” at the headstock. Works perfect. It’s basically the same size as my Ibanez and Strandberg.
