Impressive @ Discounted Price
I’ve had this TV for over 3 months and I’m enjoying the upgrade from an 8 year old, 32 inch Panasonic HD model.First thing I noticed during the unboxing was the TV had a black plastic bezel, rather than the silver one shown when launched (and bought). Amazon has since updated the pictures so that only the 55inch+ models show the silver bezel. The build quality whilst okay, doesn’t have the premium look or feel first mentioned in the reviews when I actually bought the TV.When you first purchase the set on Amazon, you’re given the option to link the device to your Amazon account, so it’s ready to go when it arrives. However, despite selecting this option, my TV wasn’t linked. That’s said, it’s so easy to set up and anyone with a Firestick will be familiar with the OS.So far, I’ve found the navigation to be okay. It’s a lot slower using the remote to navigate between the different apps / services than it is using voice commands. Unfortunately, not everything can be opened using Alexa commands, so with some apps you’re forced to use the remote. I’ve found the voice commands particularly useful when moving between streaming services and terrestrial TV channels, but the voice recognition doesn’t seem as responsive as either my Echo or Echo Dot, and I’ve found myself having to talk a bit louder.Picture quality is fantastic for the price I paid (just over £300), particularly when viewing HD or 4K. Pictures are sharp, and colour is decent too. Upscaling of standard definition is okay but can be a little soft depending on the channel being watched. There’s also been an occasional juddering picture on fast moving sports such as football or tennis, but this seems to be on streaming services rather than terrestrial channels. To get the best out of the TV picture, it’s worth tinkering with the settings by app to set your own preferences. The sound quality seems decent enough and a big step up from my last TV. I’ve found the native sound output is more than adequate for my needs, but you’ll probably want a soundbar if you’re intending to use this as part of a home cinema set up.In summary, both the picture and sound quality are decent from the TV. Being able to use your voice to control almost everything makes things a lot easier, because you’re not constantly searching for the remote control. Its little foibles include; sluggish navigation and boot up sequence, one or two freezes, and it also misses a back / previous channel button on terrestrial TV, but you can use your voice. There’s also no access to BBC Red Button text services, which is probably the thing I’ve struggled with most. Updates to the OS seem to come through at least once a week, so I’m sure any major issues will get ironed out pretty quickly. If you’re thinking about buying the Omni TV, wait for it to be discounted, and you’ll get something approaching a bargain. At full RRP it’s pricey and there are much better options available.

Great Value 4K TV – Solid for Gaming, Alexa is a Bonus
I picked up the Amazon Fire TV 50" Omni QLED during Prime Day, and for the price, it’s honestly hard to beat. I wasn’t expecting it to be perfect, but it’s delivered way more than I hoped for.Picture QualityThe 4K QLED display looks fantastic—colors are well-balanced, details are sharp, and HDR content really pops. It supports Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+, which helps a lot with contrast and brightness depending on the room lighting. It’s not OLED-level, but for this price range, it’s impressive.GamingI mainly use it with my Xbox, and it’s been a great experience. Games look crisp and vibrant, and the detail in darker scenes is solid thanks to the local dimming. The only downside is the lack of 120Hz support—so no high frame rate gaming—but honestly, at this price point, that’s a trade-off I can live with. Assassins Creed never looked so good tbf.SoundThe built-in speakers are okay, but a bit underwhelming. Dialogue can sound a little flat, and there’s not much bass. If you care about audio, I’d recommend pairing it with a soundbar.Smart Features & AlexaSetup was super easy, and Alexa integration is a big plus. I can control the TV, launch apps, and even manage smart home stuff just by talking. It’s genuinely convenient, especially when I’m mid-game or can’t find the remote.OverallIf you’re looking for a solid 4K smart TV with good picture quality, decent gaming performance, and hands-free Alexa built in, this is a great option—especially if you can grab it on sale like I did. It’s not perfect, but the value for money is excellent.

Quality 4k Picture
I've had this tv for about a month now and have used it mostly for viewing Internet services. I am familiar with the amazon fire tv experience having previously had fire tv sticks for my 40 inch panasonic viera and 24 inch Sony bravia. I like the experience of fire tv and its was a big reason why I choose to buy this television. Its easy to operate and find the app you want such as prime tv and Disney etc. The picture quality is great and has the latest dolby vision. The sound from the internal speakers is OK and is better than my previous panasonic however I have attached my pioneer av receiver to it via hdmi arc so I dont use the internal speakers. I have had no problems with the synchronisation between picture and spoken sound on the av reciever. It's easy to set up the remote to operate your av equipment etc.The only problem I can really point out is what other reviewers have pointed out is that using the terrestrial tv guide is a bit slow. It takes what seems like an age to bring up your the tv guide however once you have been using the guide and channel swapping it speeds up a bit. I have noticed that while scrolling down through the tv channels four at a time speeds things up rather than one a time and waiting for each one to load.I am overall very pleased with the television the internet services and fire tv experience is great and unless you are a big terrestrial tv person I think you will be very pleased with the product if you decide to purchase it.Addition to review December 2024.This was a great TV for the price I paid. However amazon have it for sale at the moment and in the description its says newest gen. This is correct however they have not released a 2024 version which would include the freely app. This version 'newest gen' is not compatible with freely. Be absolutely certain about the model you are buying as this generation of the amazon qled 'The first version' does not support the UK freely app.
