Sleepers [DVD]

Brilliant Film, fantastic casting, based on a "true story", well a story that seems so real it must be based on something that happened, names and characters changed, or parts added. Maybe there wasn't the trial but the other events did happen? Either way this is one hell of a story and we now know such things did take place in these institutions as a matter of course, and New York in the 1960's would one of the worst cases of such institutions. This is a story of friendship and revenge, that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. One of my favourite books and now one of my favourite films.

I’m an avid Di Niro fan and this is a absolutely brilliant film as were the other three films in my order which were,Cape Fear, Falling in Love, and The untouchables. They arrived really quick, thanks.

Based on a true story this movie is excellent. A great cast comprising of Jason Patric, Brad Pitt, Kevin Bacon, Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro sees a tale of 4 young boys that are sent to a juvenile correction facility after a prank goes badly wrong. The boys are subjected to horrendous abuse during their stay and years later they come face to face with one of their abusers. A story of friendship and revenge this movie is a compelling watch, and is as well acted by the young cast as the experienced ones. 5 stars.

Supposedly a true story yet it’s been impossible to find out the truth. However to be honest I hope it isn’t a true story given what the children go through

This is a very upsetting topic that needs an honest but thoughtful treatment, this feels at time that they're exploiting it in a creepy way. Very uncomfortable viewing.

Seen this movie SOOOO many times, brilliant, love it. Whether it's a true story or not - who knows...I believe that at the very least it's something that happens & isn't always brought out into the open & this movie makes people think - maybe even come forward & talk about their experiences. At the most, that it is in fact a true story, but there's too much "controversy" surrounding it.

Amazing film. Amazing cast.How a community comes together to get justice and revenge through loyalty and trust and a few basketball tickets 😉
