Luv the smell!!! Very nice rustic look. I added two small holes on the spine to insert string and make it somewhat like a travelers notebook. Makes it bulky with short Blackwings but I managed to get 2-3 field notes and six smaller blackwing pencils. I’m always playing around and changing it up. Ordered some fn size stone paper notebooks which I will switch to when they arrive. And, maybe a space pen. Either way, I’m addicted. This company should make their own version of tn. The leather is absolutely gorgeous and again, it smells so good. Reminds me of going to Lake of the Ozarks as a kid and wondering in all their tourists shops and smelling all the leather keepsakes. I look forward to the patina but I hope it never loses its smell.

First things first, this is genuine leather. Not polyurethane that so many other vendors try to sneak past customers.It does everything I expect it to do. Easily holds a Field Notes book and 3 writing instruments, whether they're pens, mechanical pencils or of you're really old school, wooden pencils.Being real leather, this cover will eventually pick up a nice patina in the coming years.

So far, it’s great. I assume this brand is from Guatemala? As it was sold by hide and drink. It obviously does not come with a notepad, that’s expected. Was a tight fit getting the notepad in, and very tight if you keep a spare one in the pocket. This is fine and good design for leather as it warms up and breaks in. I have not had the opportunity to take it out in the field, but I imagine it will hold up. The clasp is very tight at first, requiring to be pushed out to open the book. This is, I hope, by design. As leather wears in it will be good and secure. The added thickness to the end of the strap is a good touch, a lot of other products with a closure similar to this, falls open a lot. More than enough pockets for writing instruments, and mini ruler etc. I am using it as a fishing journal to document weather, water conditions, returnable spots, and fish logs. Including small sketches of the area, to retrace my steps back to off-grid spots. Highly recommend for this.

Great quality. The closure was a bit stiff in the beginning but, like all leather, it stretched out with use.

This is a great handmade item. Perfect for on the go and as a gift. Beautifully made and love the function.
