Fundamentals of Molecular Evolution

I ordered this to go along with a class on molecular systematics and evolution. So far it has been great. I haven't had a genetics class in a while, but I'm having no trouble following the reading. I'd definately recommend this book to anyone else new to the field of who is looking for a good desk reference.

Book was in great condition. Love this book actually. There's a lot of typos, but it was written by non native English speakers so what do you expect? My teachers post doc advisor wrote this beauty. If you ever wanna learn about statistical approaches to phylogeny, read this beaut!

GREAT REVIEW

I't a required text book. I've been using it for about 3 weeks. It gives good discription for bioinformatics problems.

Good price.This book was originally advertised as "like new". Right after the purchase, the seller notified me about some highlights on the 1st chapter of the book and I requested a 20% discount that was immediately accepted by the seller. After arrival, I noticed that not one but two chapters were highlighted and the external appearance wasn't "like new". The discount was fine and a good deal but they should have been more accurate on the original ad.

I have been using this book as a study guide for my qualifying examinations in evolutionary biology & genetics. It is concise and well-illustrated. The citations to original papers are exceptional. The authors do an amazing job of making difficult material seem simple. I'm now considering using this book as the basis for a lecture course. Maybe for those who enjoy crunching equations for hours this is not the best text, but for everyone else who wants practical knowledge that is readily applicable to phylogenetic and bioinformatic research in the field of molecular evolution--I have seen no better text.
