When you pull the black knob the pin does not pop out like it should I bought two of these one works fine the other dose not.Good build quality .The code rings only move in one direction I found this a bit odd

I have two of these securing gates and so far they have given three years of reliable service. The lock is heavy and seems to be well built, other reviewers comment upon damage resulting from dropping the lock but as I have not dropped them I cannot comment. The locks are very sensitive to having the numbers exactly aligned before they will open which normally means a bit of a fiddle on my knees as my application only allows for limited movement of the lock but I am sure that this could be overcome with a little effort by marking combination alignment points on the front of the lock if required.As always when buying a lock, consider what it is attached to as that is often the weakest point and would-be crim's can easily deal with the soft metal of the mount bypassing the excellent security of the lock.

Looks great, sturdy and strong but the shackle is so narrow and deep set it won't fit round the loop on my gate lock, the top of the lock hits up against the gate and the bar can't fit through ..it's a standard gate lock with a pretty standard metal loop and cross plate. What use is a lock that can't hook over a standard gate lock loop. For this reason totally useless to me..make sure you've got a good sized loop to slip this thing onto before you buy

Easy to use and nicely built.Beware this lock will not fit all clasps do the shape of the locks barrel.

Incredible product which enables proper security. This is my fourth one. The plastic casing does not last but the lock itself is hard wearing.

Good solid lock

It's a solid, heavy lock but after 13 months of use, mine has seized solid and even after soaking in paraffin overnight, nothing will make it budge. Very poor performance for the money. I won't buy Squire again - they are putting their name to inferior products. Also, it can be impossible to use with heavy-duty hasps and staples. In an attempt to make it difficult to cut open (good!) there is so much body in the way that it won't always fit (bad!). I had to reshape my hasp and staple - now unnecessary of course.DAYS LATER: I chanced to look on the Henry Squire website. There is an unconditional 10 year guarantee, not mentioned on Amazon. I emailed them, they immediately replied and said they will replace if I send it back. It's in the post.

works great with the asc mc16860301 low carbon steel case hardened proof coil chain zinc plated 3/8 inch diameter x 10 foot long chain. lock is tough and chain links fit with lock perfect.saved my new generator from getting stolen. buy ya one here!
