My truck came with the 7 pin and two camera hookups. My ranch doesn't have any trailers with cameras on them, but I do have several with 4 pins on them. I hate having to keep up with the 7 to 4 adapter. What a pain. I got this plug so I could change it to what I need on my truck.The videos on youtube make it look so easy. for the most part it is, and my issues could be my truck. Releasing the connector from the bumper wasn't too bad. The issue was when I pulled it out of the back of the bumper to make the change. The cable wasn't very long so it was hard to release the old plug from the connector. Putting the new one on was a little hard to do also because of the length of the cable.I like the look of the plug and checking it on my 4 and 7 pin trailers seems to work just fine. It seems to be well made and looks like it could be OEM.

Great unit but does not fit numbers with twist style opening.
Curt website and Amazon both say it fits the 2012 GMC Sierra 1500. It does not work with the factory opening. The connector is compatible but the opening is not. If you relocate to a compatible mount it would work but not a direct replacement.
