I've got two of these solar powered LED security lights and I've been very impressed with both of them. They are very simple to install, just a few screws and rawl plugs to fit both the light/sensor fitting plus the separate solar panel. A decent length of cable connects the two pieces together which should be long enough to allow efficient positioning of the solar panel. The control options are straight forward, and the illuminated display confirms your selection which is much better than some trial and error lights I've used in the past. The concern with solar lights is whether it can hold enough charge to keep the light shining when you need it. I have numerous path marking lights that are very poor, and soon turn off not long after dark. I can reassure you though that there is no such issues with these. I've had then installed for about 4 months now, and have gone through the darkest days of winter with no loss of performance. You can adjust the time the lights stays on for, and I have it set for 30 second bursts. We have a large garden with many regular wildlife visitors such as foxes/squirrels/cats, and despite this the lights still come on at 7:30am in the morning when I come to get my bike. The light is very bright with a good spread, and the sensor has a very good range also. It's quite expensive for a solar powered light, but they've both been faultless so I can't recommend it highly enough.

This is my second review of this product. I think this product seems very well built and gives good lighting. I baught mine in, I think, September. When I installed it, I was really pleased with the light, the detection range and also the solor panal, as it seemed to work well even in cloudy season. However, suddenly after a week or two it gave up the ghost for no apparent reason. At that stage, I tried to get in touch with the seller but could not do so. This was no fault of the seller but had more to do with Amazon usability. Since being the customer, the fault has really to lay in someone other than myself :) So I just left a review outlining the issue. To my surprise, the seller sent me a replacement item immediately- no questions asked. I thought that was brilliant customer service. So while I have not yet been able to try out the new item, I have no reason to believe it will not work. I thought I'd leave a comment ASAP as I might not have the time to change the light for some time and it would be unfair on the seller. Delivered in time specified. A good product considering it is LED. The frame could be a little bit deeper and larger as screwing the thing together was a little awkward, the PIR pushes right up against the wall fitting when positioning the light to face down to a suitable angle. I thought I might break it. You need to take the light fitting off the frame to fix the wall fixing to the wall otherwise you don't have access to the screw holes. The difficulty was fitting the light unit back onto the wall fitting while up a tall ladder. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for that. (Fiddling about up a tall ladder is not a great experience for some of us). That said, I like the product. It's been up a month now and does its job. It's December and I have had no worries about not having charge. It's not as bright as the 100 Watt Halogen that it replaced (which had broken), its about half that, but is perfectly adequate for a 25ft long garden (18ft wide). It doesn't give daylight quality light but gives perfect visibility of the whole garden for normal run of the mill things. I can see to the end of the garden without straining, re-positioning or having to get closer. So supervising the dog is no problem, putting bins out and walking to shed (avoiding doggy doos) can be done without there being any dark spots. It's actually not so bright that it would annoy the neighbors, but just right. I have this positioned on a south facing wall with the solar panel above it and at bedroom window height (2 story house). Set to 3 minutes, comes on at dusk (the default setting). It's a lot more useful than a 22LED version that a bought a few months ago, which was far too small and only lights up a few feet in front of it. (That one's inside the shed). I would recommend this to anyone with a similar sized garden. You might need more LEDs for a larger garden.

After purchasing 4 other units over a five year period all failed for one reason or more I was not sure to bother again. I spotted this unit was constructed to ip65 so being water proof and it could be set by a digital control I am very impressed the unit is very well made and very easy to set, the battery was already charged i switched on and pressed the time button and set to 1 minute did the same for the lux (light ) set to 2 nearly dark attached it to my greenhouse and waited till dark Was I impressed it turned on when I approached and yes it turned of after one minute ( No more fiddling with little buttons, the 64 led light is very very bright I could read a book with no problem. The instructions were easy but does not tell you how to replace the battery that should last two years. At this point of time I award 5 stars but time will tell I bought the unit at half price so if I get two years I will be happy only time will tell. I have big hopes for this one.

This Solar P.I.R. Light is really good. This is the second I've bought, (1st. One was a 64 LED). Really bright, holds the charge well, detects motion at a good distance away, and it's easy to set up and install. I always put black insulation tape around the battery cover / switch box, and across the screws which hold it together, just to be on the safe side, and I never experience water ingress. The solar panel is good too, and there's plenty of cable. I also like the way you can adjust the settings in the dark, with the clear LED setting functions. All in all, in my opinion, it's one of the best Solar Lights on the market.

I thought I'd wait at least 6 months to test this out and have to say it's adequate. I needed it to light up a 40x20 foot garden enough for me to see myself to the garage at the end of the garden. It does this and as it's solar, I have to say it lights up the area I need quite well. It's not as bright as an electrically powered security light but it does the job for me. I've not given it more than three stars because the sensor is tempremental. It has a life of it's own sometimes and turns on when nothing triggers it! I have no explanation for this. In addition to this, when it's windy the lamp is triggered sometimes. It may be some plants move in the wind situated in front of the sensor that may be triggering the lamp! Again, I have no answer to this hence the downgrade of the product from 4 stars to 3. Overall the lamp provides enough light for my garden but 'it's life of it's own' issues need to be sorted out. UPDATE (11-02-16) - having shared my frustration with some people in the comments section, I got one useful tip about the problem regarding the 'life of its own' issue. I was advised to unplug the cable leading to the lamp to reset it. It has been over a week now and it seems to have cured the problem. If this is the long term solution, I will upgrade my score.

Very impressed. Delivery was prompt and the instructions were easy to understand. I found the best way to fix it to the wall was to take the back off of the light and solar panel to mark the drill points and then screw them back on when fixing the units to the wall. The light is perfect for my needs. It's not too bright as to dazzle the neighbours or passers by, but strong enough to see and put off unwanted guests. I put the lights up in the winter and they still work when I leave in the morning, so the battery life is perfect. Don't do what I did though and fix one above the boiler flume! The steam sets it off every time the boiler kicks in, so will be moving it.

Good product all 8 still working well One year later and now i have 16 of these lights still all working well . When i installed the lights i minimise the direct weather by installing in the most sheltered areas of the house and garden so i have no problems with water even though i have 5 of these lights installed up trees . Overall these are the best solar lighting product that i have found and of good enough quality to last a few years with the batteries being replaceable . I will stick with this brand now for sure and i have just found out that is possible to purchase a 180 led version direct from Micro Solar so that will be my next purchase . A good solar lighting product , with good customer service ! Now 18 months since i brought these lights and still going strong with no failure or problems as yet !.
